3. Power light - red
4. Non-stick cooking plates
5. Storage lock
6. Cord storage (underneath unit)
BEFORE FIRST USE
The first time you use the unit, you may notice a slight
burning smell and a little smoke. This is completely
normal and will soon disappear.
Wipe the cooking plates with absorbent paper or a soft
damp cloth.
Clean the outside of the unit with a soft damp cloth. The
cover can be cleaned with a soft dry cloth.
USING YOUR SANDWICH PRESS
1. Always fully unwind the power cord from the cord
storage area of the appliance before use. Insert the
plug into a mains supply socket. The power light and
the ready light will both illuminate..
2. When your sandwich press is fully heated the green
ready light will go out. This light will go on and off
during cooking.
3. Place the prepared sandwich onto the bottom cooking
plate. Always place sandwiches towards the rear of
the bottom cooking plate.
4. Close the top cooking plate.
5. Allow the sandwich to toast for approximately 5-8
minutes. Leave the sandwich in the toaster for more
or less time according to taste.
6. Open the lid. Watch out for escaping steam—use a
tea towel or wear oven gloves. Remove the cooked
sandwich with a non-metallic spatula. Don't use a
metal blade as this will damage the non-stick surface
of the cooking plates.
7. Once cooked, take care when eating, as fillings,
especially fruit or tomato, can be very hot.
CARE AND CLEANING
• Switch off and unplug the unit from the mains supply.
• Allow the unit to cool slightly. It is easier to clean when
slightly warm.
• Wipe the cooking plates with a soft cloth. If cooked
on food remains, reheat the unit for 1-2 minutes, then
brush with a little oil or melted butter. Allow to stand
for five minutes then wipe with a damp cloth.
• To clean the outside of the unit wipe over with a damp
cloth. Polish with a soft dry cloth.
To avoid damaging the non-stick coating on the cooking
plates, do not use harsh or abrasive cleaning materials.
