Inserting the batteries
· Hold the lower part in one hand and gently turn the upper part counter
clockwise until the marking

· Insert the batteries (AA 1.5 V) into the battery compartment, respecting
the +/- markings.
· Replace the cover and the upper housing on the battery compartment so
that the upper housing is firmly seated on the lower part. Turn it clockwise
to the marking
Note: KÜCHENPROFI recommends the use of alkaline batteries to prolong
the running time and for a brighter light.
Filling the mill
· Open the mill as described above.
· Remove the battery compartment with a light pull upwards. Fill the mill
with peppercorns, coarse salt, dried herbs or spices.
Note: Do not fill the container completely to the rim, but leave some
space at the top.
· Replace the battery compartment onto the lower part by putting the barshaft
into the intended opening located at the bottom of the battery compartment.
Make sure that the contact points meet and firmly press down the battery
compartment.
· Close the mill as described above.
Adjusting the grinding degree
· Turn the mill upside down. The adjusting screw is located under the
grinding mechanism.
· Turn the adjusting screw counter clockwise for a coarser grind or clockwise
for a finer grind.
Note: If the amount of ground pepper/salt gradually diminishes, this can
have two reasons:
a) The batteries are running down. In this case, replace the batteries.
b) There are insufficient peppercorns/salt crystals in the mill. In this case,
lightly shake the mill so that new peppercorns/salt crystals will fall into
the grinder, or refill the device if needed.
