Unpack Dethatcher
WARNING! This attachment weighs
53 lb. and requires two people to lift it.
1.
Open carton completely by cutting each
corner from top to bottom.
2.
Remove the FLEX™ Dethatcher Attachment,
literature, and any cardboard inserts
included with the dethatcher.
Tray

Drive Control Lever
This lever propels the entire machine forward.
Adjustable Front Wheels
The front wheels are height adjustable for clearing
thatch from lawns of varying grass heights and
thickness.
Tray
The tray acts as a frame securing the tine assembly to
the attachment chassis, and provides a platform to
securely carry weight. No more than 90 lb. of weight
should be added to the tray.
Spring Tines
Remove dead grass clippings, stems, roots, leaves
and other plant debris, promoting a healthier lawn.
Tine Retention Wire
Keeps the tines held securely and safely in place.

This unit is fully assembled and requires no setup.

Operation
Read the entire Operator's Manual
before you attempt to operate your
new dethatcher.
Starting and Stopping the Engine
Start and stop the engine on the FLEX™ Power Base
in accordance with the Operator's Manual included
with that machine.
WARNING! If leaving this equipment
unattended turn the engine OFF and
remove the ignition key.
Connecting to the FLEX™ Power Base
NOTE: All references to the left or right side are from the
operator's position. Any exceptions will be noted.
1.
Roll the FLEX™ Power Base over to the
dethatcher attachment with the kickstand UP.
See Figure 4-2.

Roll the FLEX™ Power Base forward and tip it
up, engaging the top part of the dethatcher
attachment with the handle mount provided on
the FLEX™ Power Base (1 of Figure 4-3).

Tip the FLEX™ Power Base backwards to
engage the two bottom connection points (2
and 3 of Figure 4-3).
