3. Ensure that the skin areas to be treated are shaved, dry and clean
(free from any residue such as powder, cream, make-up or deo-
dorant).
WARNING
Do not clean the skin with fl ammable liquids such as alcohol or acetone shortly before us-
ing the device.
4. Clean the light area and skin contact sensor using a dry, lint-
free cloth.
5. Perform a skin sensitivity test on every body part that you would like to treat 48 hours
prior to the full treatment.
Carrying out the skin sensitivity test
1. Insert the device plug into the device and insert the mains plug into the mains socket.
The indicator lamp begins to fl ash green (stand-by).
2. Press the ON/OFF/power selection button. On the intensity display, a small light (le-
vel 1) begins to illuminate continuously in green.
Note
In the case of facial treatment, the skin sensitivity test should be performed on an area
without hair, for example below the ear or on the side of the neck.
3. Position the light area on the skin and press the trigger button in order
to release a light pulse at level 1. Ensure that the light area and skin contact sensor
come into full contact with the skin. A light pulse can only be released once the skin
contact sensor is in full contact with the skin. You will see a bright fl ash, hear a cracking
noise and may feel a slight burning sensation and/or warmth. The device fan switches
on after the fi rst fl ash. Within 1-3 seconds (depending on the intensity level), the de-
vice is ready for the next pulse and the indicator lamp on the device is continuously
illuminated green.
4. Position the skin contact sensor on another treatment area. Increase the intensity level
by pressing the ON/OFF/power selection button again and release a light pulse using
the trigger button. Do not exceed the maximum permitted/recommended intensity for
your skin tone (see the hair and skin colour chart on the back page of these instruc-
tions for use).
