USING YOUR CONTACT GRILL
BEFORE USE
• Unpack the contact grill and place it on a flat countertop. Wipe the outer surface and
non-stick plates with a damp cloth.
• To help protect the non-stick surface, coat the grill plates with a layer of vegetable oil
before preheating.
• Some odor may be emitted during initial preheating. This is normal and will disap-
pear after one or two uses.
USING THE CONTACT GRILL
1. Plug in the power cord to a power supply to preheat with the lid closed. The red
"Power On" light will illuminate and stay on as long as the appliance is connected to
the power supply.
2. The green light will illuminate when the unit is ready for you to begin cooking. This
may take about four minutes.
3. Use the top handle to carefully open the lid, using oven mitts or a potholder to
reduce the risk of injury. Place food on the bottom cooking plate.
4. Carefully close the lid with the handle.
5. Optimal grilling time will vary according to thickness and type of food and personal
taste.
6. Once the cooking process has finished, open the lid, again using care and oven
mitts or a potholder. Remove food with a plastic or wooden spatula. DO NOT use
metal utensils. They can damage the non-stick coating.
7. Close the lid to keep the temperature high if you are going to grill another item.
8. When finished, disconnect the power supply and allow grill to cool before cleaning.
