Setting Up
Initial Settings
• Before using the unit, configure the Windows settings
within the unit. The description below describes the
standard settings in Windows 10.
• After booting the unit and signing in to Windows for the
first time, create a password reset disk. Prepare a USB
flash drive that has at least 1 MB of free space.
Notes
• To reboot the unit, first shut down the unit and then turn the On/Standby
button on the front panel on again, without rebooting Windows.
• If a password reset disk is not created, the unit will need to be reset to
factory defaults if you forget the Windows password. Consult your Sony
sales or service representative.

Connect a keyboard and mouse to the USB connectors
on the front panel, and connect a monitor to the HDMI
connector on the rear panel.

Set the On/Standby button to the On position.

When the Windows sign-in screen appears, enter
"nm1" as the user name, enter "pws100nm1" as the
password, and sign in.
A "The user's password must be changed before
signing in." message appears. The default factory
password must be changed using the following
procedure.

Click the [OK] button.

Insert the USB flash drive into a USB port of the unit,
then click [Create a password reset disk].
The [Welcome to the Forgotten Password Wizard]
screen appears.

Click the [Next] button.
The [Create a Password Reset Disk] screen appears.
The USB flash drive inserted in the USB port of the
unit in step 5 appears on the screen.

Select the USB flash drive, and click the [Next] button.
The [Create User Account Password] screen appears.

Enter the "pws100nm1" default password for the
"nm1" user, and click the [Next] button.
The [Create Password Reset Disk] screen appears, and
password reset information is written to the USB flash
drive.

When the progress bar reaches 100%, click the [Next]
button.
The [Completing the Forgotten Password Wizard]
screen appears.

Click the [Finish] button.
A screen appears for setting a new password.

Enter the following items.
[Password]: Enter the "pws100nm1" default
password.
[New password]: Enter a new password.
[Confirm password]: Enter the same password entered
in [New password].
Note
Make sure not to forget the configured password. If you do forget the
password, reset the password using the password reset disk. For details,
see "Resetting the Windows User Password" (page 24).

Click the [t] button.
A "Your password has been changed." message
appears.

Click the [OK] button.
The Windows desktop appears.
Configuring the network
1
Connect a LAN cable to the LAN connector on the rear
panel of the unit, and connect the other end to the
network.

In [Settings] > [Network & Internet], click [Status].

In [Advanced network settings], click [Change adapter
options].

In [Network Connections], double-click [LAN1]/
[LAN2].

Click the [Properties] button.

Select [Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)], then
click the [Properties] button.
