• The appliance should not be cleaned by or serviced by the above
mentioned group of people.
• Children shall not play with the appliance.
• Keep away from pets! The cable can lead to the charcoal lighter
being knocked over.
• Make sure that the power cord or other flammable materials do not
come into contact with the hot charcoal lighter.
• Do not try to repair the appliance on your own. Always contact an
authorized technician. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be
replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified
persons in order to avoid a hazard.
• The appliance is only to be used to light charcoal or coal briquettes.
• Keep a safety distance of 1.5 m from walls and roofs.
• Do not operate the appliance with an external timer or separate re-
mote control system.
• Allow the appliance to cool before cleaning and storing.

Electrical Connection

Before inserting the plug into the socket, make sure that the
mains voltage to be used matches that of the appliance. You
can find this information on the nameplate.
Using the Appliance
1. Place the charcoal lighter on a fire resistant surface.
NOTE:
We recommend placing it directly in the grill.
2. Pour the charcoal into the appliance opening.
CAUTION:
Do not exceed the MAX mark!
3. Connect the appliance to a properly installed and earthed
socket.
NOTE:
• The control lamp will light up.
• The appliance is immediately in operation.
4. When the charcoal starts to blaze pull the plug out of the
socket.
5. Lift the appliance using the handle and pour the coals into
the grill.

Cleaning
WARNING:
• Always disconnect from the mains before cleaning and
wait until the appliance has cooled down.
• Never immerse the appliance in water to clean it. This
may lead to electrical shock or fire.
CAUTION:
• Do not use wire brushes or other abrasive materials.
• Do not use caustic or scouring agents.
• Empty the appliance by tapping it gently.
• Clean from the inside using a brush.
• Wipe the outside of the appliance with a slightly damp cloth.
Storage
• Clean the appliance as described. Let the accessories dry
completely.
• We recommend that you store the appliance in its original
packaging when it is not to be used for a longer period.
• Always store the appliance at a well ventilated and dry
place outside the reach of children.
