Warnings
Note:
After installation and exchange, an acceptance test according to the machine instructions
must be performed.
Mounting and commissioning is to be executed by a specialist in electricity and precision mechanics
under compliance with local safety regulations.
Do not engage or disengage any connections while under power.
In addition to this, the machine manufacturer or designer himself must define the other data required
for final assembly (e.g. anti-rotation lock for screws required or not) for the respective application.
Information on mounting (e.g. optional checking of the shaft connection) must be specified by the
machine manufacturer or designer.
Encoders that have contributed to the failure of a safety function in the application must be returned
to HEIDENHAIN Traunreut, together with the fasteners (screws).
EnDat 22 cable assemblies from HEIDENHAIN must be used.
Ripple currents through the ball bearings of the encoder are not permissible.
Original packaging must be used for transport and storage. Storage temperature 30 ... 65 °C.
Do not drop the encoder or subject it to major vibration; avoid impact or shock.
Avoid direct contact of aggressive media with the encoder and connector.
Do not clean the encoder with organic solvents like thinners, alcohol or benzene.
Prevent the encoder from getting into contact with small chips, sharp objects etc. because they can
destroy the sealing system.
A PELV* power supply (power pack) with overvoltage protection, and overcurrent protection
if necessary, must be used.
* Protective Extra Low Voltage
