HOT KNIFE
Introduction
The COLOTOOL thermal knife is a professional quality tool for hot cutting of insulation systems. The tool heats
up in seconds and the user can control the temperature from the tool itself.
Recommended use
Expanded polystyrene (EPS), extruded polystyrene (XPS), polyethylene, cross-linked polyethylene, polypro-
pylene and other foamed plastic materials.

Blade installation
NOTE: Make sure that the mains cable is disconnected from the power supply before handling the blade. Also,
make sure that the blade is not hot before handling.
Caution 1: The edges of the blade are extremely sharp. For a clean cut, always make a clean cut using
these edges.
STRAIGHT BLADE:
1. Loosen the screws of the blade

Caution 1: Excessive power output and heat generation may cause the blade holders to overheat which could
damage the unit. Use only the power output for proper cutting. The blade does not have to be red hot to move
through foamed plastics.
Operating
Set the temperature control to the middle power setting, place the blade against the edge of the foam and press
the trigger. For optimal cutting, virtually no smoke should appear.
