Self-test
After pressing the button [1] briefly, the device
■
performs a self-test and the "batt" LED [2] lights
up for a short time.
Test
Open the cap of the brake liquid container.
■
Remove the plug [3] of the tester.
■
Dip the test probe into the brake liquid up to the
■
plastic edge.
To evaluate the quality, press the button [1] for
■
at least two seconds and simultaneously read the
result from the LEDs [2].
Warning:
The device is only designed for the
purposes described in these operating
instructions. If the device is used for other
purposes, this can result in accidents or
in destruction of the device. The device
must not be changed in its design.
Warning:
The device must not be used for meas-
urements in electric circuits.
Note
Pay attention to the information of the
vehicle manufacturer and the brake
liquid manufacturer on changing the
brake liquid.
Note
The measurement is an additional
information. It does not replace the data
given by the manufacturer of the vehicle
(e.g. change intervals).

To avoid contamination of the brake liquid with

moisture, keep the expansion vessel open for a
short time only.
Do not measure too often.
■
Always rinse the test probes with water and dry.
■
Re-install the plug [3].
■
Note
Ensure there no residues of the brake
liquid remain on the test probes or on
the device.
Battery exchange
Open the battery lid [4] carefully with a screw
■
driver.
Replace the discharged battery with a Würth
■
spare battery (Item 0827 111).
Observe proper polarity when inserting
the battery!
Indication (fig. I)
Green:
Water content in the brake fluid is OK. There is no
water in the brake fluid.
Green /yellow:
Less than 1% water in the brake fluid
Green /yellow / yellow:
Approx. 2% water in the brake fluid
Green / yellow / yellow / red:
Approx. 3% water in the brake fluid,
Change the brake fluid!
Green / yellow / yellow / red / red:
at least 3% water in the brake fluid,
Brake liquid must be changed immediately!
Safety risk!
Note
If brake liquid comes in contact with
your skin or clothes, rinse thoroughly
with water. Brake liquid must not be
exposed to the atmosphere since it is
highly hygroscopic!
