9.1
Fitting the guide rail and saw chain
(Fig. 2 - 7)
m WARNING!
• The teeth of the saw chain are very sharp! Pro-
tective gloves must be worn during all work on the
chain. Danger of injury!
• An incorrectly installed saw chain leads to uncon-
trolled cutting behaviour by the device! When fitting
the chain, observe the prescribed running direction!
• Place the chainsaw on a level surface.
1.
Release the hand wheel (13) and take off the chain
cover (12). (Fig. 2)
2.
Turn the chain tensioning wheel (11) clockwise to
move the guide rail (7) as close to the chain wheel
as possible. (Fig. 3)
3.
Place the saw chain (6) around the guide rail (7),
starting at the top section of the bar. Insert the
saw chain (6) in the circumferential groove (Fig.
4). When inserting the saw chain, observe the
correct running direction of the chain.

4.
Place the guide rail (7) with the elongated hole on
the stud bolt and guide pin on the chainsaw. (Fig.
5)
5.
Place the saw chain (6) around the chain tension-
ing wheel (11).
6.
Turn the chain tensioning wheel (11) anti-clock-
wise, to tension the saw chain (6). The saw chain
(6) must not sag, although it should be possible to
pull it 1–2 millimeters away from the guide rail in
the centre of the guide rail (7). (Fig. 6)
7.
Turn the saw chain (6) by hand, to check it runs
freely. It must glide freely in the guide rail (7). (Fig.
7)
8.
Fit the chain cover (12). Tighten the hand wheel
(13) for fastening the guide rail (7) and chain cover
(12).
NOTE
The tension of a new chain must be checked after a
few minutes in operation, and adjusted if necessary.
To do so switch the device off, remove the battery and
apply the chain brake.
9.2
Fill in chain oil (Fig. 8)
m CAUTION!
• Only add environmentally friendly, good quality
chain lubricating oil (per RAL-UZ 48) to the chain
saw.
• Do not add used oil. Used oil can cause skin can-
cer with extended and repeated skin contact, and
is damaging to the environment! Used oil does not
have the necessary lubricating characteristics and
is unsuitable for chain lubrication.
• An oil other than the recommended oil can cause
damage to the rail, chain and lubrication system.
• Make sure that no dirt gets into the oil tank.
• Avoid oil spillages. Always wipe up spilled oil.
1.
Unscrew the oil fuel cap (14).
2.
Carefully add the chain lubricating oil until it
reaches the top mark on the oil level indicator
(15). Oil tank capacity: max. 180 ml
3.
