Commissioning
• Only power supply units of the SELV type with safe electrically separated functional extra-low voltage
(≤ 60 V DC) may be used for the 24 V power supply of the DP/PA coupler Ex [ia]. The DP/PA coupler
Ex [ia] and all modules/devices connected via the non-intrinsically safe PROFIBUS-DP must be
supplied from SELV power supplies.
• Steps must be taken to ensure that the rated voltage through transients cannot be exceeded by more
than 40 %.
• Only field devices conforming to the FISCO model may be connected to the PROFIBUS-PA .
• As the interconnecting cable for PROFIBUS-PA you should use: PROFIBUS-PA interconnecting
cable (blue), 6XV1 830-5AH10.
Connecting PROFIBUS-DP (X1 DP):
1. Insert the bus connector on the PROFIBUS-DP connection.

NOTE
The cable shield of the bus cable is connected in service to the RS 485-IS Coupler by means of a
spring-type terminal with the mounting rail and consequently with the equipotential bonding PA.

2. Use the 3.5 mm screwdriver to tighten the lockscrews of the bus connection plug (torque: 0.5 to 0.7
Nm)
Connecting PROFIBUS-PA
•
Trim the cables to desired length, strip off 10 mm and apply ferrules
•
Label the bus cable as "Ex i bus cable".
Connecting the 24 V power supply

Trim the cables to desired length, strip off 10 mm and apply ferrules
