Surface Suction Unit Mini Skimmer / Planning information
6
Planning information
6.1 Number and position
Depending on the position and shape of the pool, one surface suction unit is required per approx. 30 m² of
water. For free-form pools, the position must be chosen so that all areas of the pool can be flown through
sufficiently and no stagnation zones form.
For outdoor pools, the surface suction unit should always be positioned with the opening facing the main
wind direction so that the wind supports the surface flow of the surface suction unit.
6.2 Distances and accessibility
The surface suction unit requires a sufficiently large and secure access point in the area around the pool.
If the surface suction unit is completely set in concrete, this access will not be possible.
If the surface suction unit is completely set in concrete, it must be ensured that all work to be carried
out on the body of the surface suction unit (e.g. attaching a water level regulator) is performed before
completely setting the surface suction unit in concrete.
The recommended water level of the surface suction unit is marked on the drilling template, and comes to
2/3 of the total opening height.

Installation
7.1 Connection to additional potential equalisation
5
DANGER
The surface suction unit must be connected to the additional protective
potential equalisation if there is an electrically conductive connection to a piece
of electrical equipment (e.g. filter pump).
This may be the case, for example, if the surface suction unit is connected to
the filter pump by means of electrically conductive pipes (e.g. stainless steel
pipes).
It will also be necessary to connect to additional potential equalisation if the
surface suction unit is in contact with the sheathing and/or the earth.
When it comes to electrical installations in swimming pools, please observe
DIN VDE 0100 Part 702.
