Fitting the quick connector
Note: This tool is supplied with two different male airline quick connectors (Fig. I).
EQ-4 – commonly used in Europe
EN-6 – mainly used in the UK
• Please choose the connector that is compatible with the airline system you are using and install
as outlined below.
1. Apply PTFE tape (not included) to the screw threads of either the UK Coupling (7) or EU Coupling
(8). This will help to maintain an airtight seal.
Note: Apply PTFE tape tightly and in a clockwise direction, so it does not come off when the thread
is screwed into the tool.
2. Remove the protective plug from the air inlet.
3. Using a spanner (not included) screw the required coupling into the M12 to ¼" BSP Adaptor (6)
located at the base of the handle.
4. Connect to airline, pressurise carefully and carry out a leak check (e.g. by spraying small amounts
of soapy water on to the outside of the connectors).
• Air lines fitted with matching female quick connectors will now be a push fit to the tool.
Air supply connection
This tool should be connected to a clean, dry air supply with water separator and filter.
WARNING: Do not use the Air Tyre Inflator in a compressed air system with integrated oiler
under any circumstances.
• Do not allow supply pressure to exceed the maximum stated (see 'Specifications').
• Ensure that water is drained from air system daily.
• Ensure that all parts of the system (hoses, couplers, etc.) are correctly rated for the air pressure
to be used.
• Do not use non-conductive tubing. Conductive tubing will help prevent build-up of electrostatic
charge and reduce associated risks.
Setting tool power
• The tool power can be adjusted by reducing/increasing the air supply pressure within the range
specified in 'Specifications'
Setting up the Air Tyre Inflator assembly
1. Ensure the Air Tyre Inflator has been correctly assembled, and the correct coupling (7 or 8) has
been securely tightened
2. Connect the hose coupler from the air compressor (not supplied) to the coupling
Preparing the tyre
• Remove the valve cover (if applicable) and check the valve is compatible with the Schrader Valve
Connector (1)
Note: The Air Tyre Inflator is only compatible with Schrader valves (American valves).
• Clean the valve if necessary and ensure it is free from dirt and dust.
IMPORTANT: Ensure the tyres are cool before taking a pressure reading or carrying out inflation.
Warm tyres (i.e. those which have just been in use) will be at a higher pressure than normal and
may give misleading readings.

Operation
Note: To operate this tool, an air compressor or clean pressurised air is required (see 'Air supply
connection').
WARNING: Ensure the air supply pressure does not exceed the maximum operating pressure
stated in 'Specifications' .
WARNING: Be aware that air tools may hold residual pressure after use. Always bleed air
pressure from the tool after shutting off air supply.
Inflating tyres
IMPORTANT: Always refer to the tyre manufacturer's recommended inflation pressures, and do
not overinflate.
1. Fit the Schrader Valve Connector (1) to the tyre valve
2. With the Schrader Valve Connector attached securely, press the Air Trigger (5) to inflate the tyre
Note: Inflate the tyre in frequent shorter bursts of air. This will allow more control of the tyre
inflation and minimise the risk of overinflating the tyre. Releasing the Air Trigger will display the
tyre's current air pressure on the Pressure Gauge (3).
3. If the tyre is inflated too much, release the pressure and deflate the tyre by pressing the Air
Release Valve (4)
4. Once the desired tyre pressure is achieved, disconnect the Schrader Valve Connector from
the tyre
Notes:
• Use the Pressure Gauge (3) as an approximate guide to the pressure level. If a specific
pressure level is required, use a calibrated pressure gauge or gauge that is manufactured to
BS EN12645:1999.
• This product is not suitable for use as a spray gun or any other application for which it is not
designed.
• After inflating tyres, remember to replace the tyre's valve covers, which protect the valve from
dust and dirt.
Maintenance
WARNING: Always disconnect from the air supply and depressurise before cleaning or carrying
out any maintenance.
Note: There is very little that can go wrong with your air tool and it should be noted that when an air
tool fails to work it is generally because the internal workings have corroded due to dirty, wet air and
failure to follow the operating instructions.
Cleaning
• Keep your tool clean at all times. Dirt and dust will cause internal parts to wear quickly, and
shorten the tool's service life. Clean the body of your tool with a soft brush, or dry cloth.
Lubrication
• Even though the air passages of the air tool must remain free of oil and other contaminants,
some components require frequent lubrication
• Slightly lubricate all sealing surfaces, packings, bearings and dynamic O-rings with a specialised
air tool lube, and apply a small amount of petroleum jelly to springs and pins, such as the Air
Trigger (5)
Storage
• Store this tool carefully in a secure, dry place out of the reach of children
• Always disconnect tool and shut of air supply before storage
