INSTRUCTIONS EACH TIME YOU USE THE POWER
PACK. To reduce risk of battery explosion, follow these
instructions and those published by battery manufacturer
and manufacturer of any equipment you intend to use
in vicinity of the battery. Review cautionary marking on
these products and on engine.
WARNING:
DO NOT ATTEMPT TO JUMP START A DAMAGED OR
FROZEN BATTERY. Use product only with batteries for
recommended voltage.
WARNING:
Do not use the jump starter to jump a vehicle while charg-
ing the vehicle battery.
NOTICE:
Before each use, inspect the entire product for damaged,
missing, or loose parts such as screws, nuts, bolts, caps,
etc. Tighten securely all fasteners and caps and do not
operate this product until all missing or damaged parts
are replaced. Please contact customer service or a quali-
fied service center for assistance.
APPLICATIONS
This product is designed to supply electrical power for jump
starting vehicles.
INSTALLING/REMOVING BATTERY PACKS
See Figure 2.
To install:
Insert the battery pack into the product as shown.
Make sure the latches on each side of the battery pack
snap into place and the battery pack is secured before
beginning operation.
WARNING:
Battery tools are always in operating condition. Therefore,
unit should always be OFF with the battery pack removed
when not in use. Failure to follow these instructions could
result in serious personal injury.
Depress the latches to remove the battery pack.
OPERATION
WARNING:
Always remove battery pack from your product when you
are assembling parts, making adjustments, cleaning, or
when not in use. Removing battery pack will prevent acci-
dental starting that could cause serious personal injury.
USING THE JUMP STARTER IN STANDARD
MODE
See Figures 2 - 4.
NOTE: Read and understand your vehicle's operating in-
structions regarding cautions and recommendations prior
to jump starting the vehicle.
Make sure all power loads have been turned off.
Connect the positive (red) clamp to the the positive (+)
battery terminal.
Connect the negative (black) to the negive (-) battery
terminal or vehicle chassis.
NOTE: Do not allow positive and negative battery clamps
to touch or connect to each other; this will cause sparking.
Press and hold the ON/OFF button to turn the unit on.
NOTE: POWER LED will be solid green.
Press the PRIME button to charge the unit.
Once primed, the START ENGINE LED will turn solid
green.
Start the vehicle.
NOTE: If the engine fails to start, review the trouble shoot-
ing guide for further instructions. Additional service on your
vehicle may be required; seek professional assistance.
Press and hold the ON/OFF button to turn the unit off.
Disconnect the product from the vehicle by removing the
negative (black) clamp first, then the positive (red) clamp.
USING THE JUMP STARTER IN OVERRIDE
MODE
See Figures 2 - 4.
The override mode is required when the voltage level of the
vehicle battery is below 0.8 volts.
WARNING:
USE THIS MODE WITH EXTREME CAUTION AND
CARE. SPARK PREVENTION AND REVERSE POLAR-
ITY PROTECTIONS ARE DISABLED IN MANUAL
MODE. Make sure the clamps are connected cor-
rectly. Failure to follow all instructions may result in
electric shock, fire, and/or serious personal injury.
