Operating instructions
With the Dual 430 all microgroove and stereo
records can be played.
With the push button
first set the necessary
turntable speed on 33 or 45 rpm. Now place
the record
on the turntable
and release the
tonearm.
The Dual is now ready for play.
1. Operation
The
movement
of the tonearm
toward
the
record will start the platter rotating.
To lower down over the lead-in groove or the
desired position on the record, a light touch
on the cueing lever is all that is necessary and
will bring it to the position Y. By this means
the cueing control
will lower and the stylus
sets
down
with
absolute
accuracy
on
the
record,
The
height of the stylus over the record
in
position Y can be varied over a 1/4" range by
turning adjustment screw @).
2. To interrupt play
Move cueing lever to position Y.
Fig. 7
3. To resume play
Move
cueing
lever
to
position Y. (A light
touch is all that is necessary).
4. Switch off
When
the
record
has
finished
playing, the
record
player turns off automatically
at the
same
time
the
tonearm
lifts
off
from
the
record
and
the
cueing
lever goes into
position Y. Please set the tonearm back on the
tonearm rest. We recommend that after using
the
record
player,
the tonearm
should
be
locked (Fig. 6).
Changing the pick-up cartridge
To
remove
the
complete
pick-up

ween thumb and forefinger of the right hand
and with the thumb of the left hand push the

The
pick-up

is released
from
the

cartridge
in this position
push
gently
upwards to the rear until enga-
gement takes place,
Insert complete
pick-up cartridge upwards in
the pick-up head with the contact pins towards
the tonearm
tube
and press upwards at the
front. The
tonearm
should
be held firmly in
position while this is done.
Balancing the tonearm and setting
stylus force
The tonearm
of your unit has already been
carefuliy
balanced
(according
to the weight
of the cartridge) at the factory.
The stylus force can be adjusted from 4 to 5
grams by rotating the weight.
