SPECIFIC SAFETY RULES FOR STRING TRIMMER
Only operate trimmer in daylight or good artificial light.
When being used as an Edger, stones, pieces of metal and other objects can be thrown out at high speed by
the line. The tool and guard are designed to reduce the danger. However, the following special
precautions should be taken: MAKE SURE that other persons and pets are at least 100 feet (30m) away.
Use only the manufacturer's 0.065 in. diameter replacement line in the cutting head. Do not use any other
cutting attachment, for example, metal wire, rope, or the like. To install any other brand of cutting head to
this string trimmer can result in serious personal injury.
Never operate unit without the grass deflector in place and in good condition.
Check damaged parts. Before further use of the tool, a guard or other part that is damaged should be
carefully checked to determine that it will operate properly and perform its intended function. Check for
alignment of moving parts, binding of moving parts, breakage of parts, mounting and any other
conditions that may affect its operation. A guard or other part that is damaged must be properly repaired
or replaced by an authorized service center to avoid risk of personal injury.
Never use blades, flailing devices, wire, or rope. Unit is designed for string trimmer use only. Use of any
other accessories or attachments will increase the risk of injury.
Keep the air vents clean and free of debris to avoid overheating the motor. Clean after each use.
Stop the unit and disconnect the power source when not in use. Carry the unit with the motor stopped.
Do not use the string trimmer with any type of accessory or attachment. Such usage might be hazardous.
Risk of cut. Keep hands away from the line. Keep both hands on handles when power is on.
Do not attempt to remove cut material or hold material to be cut when lines are moving. Make sure
trimmer switch is off when clearing jammed material from guard. Do not grasp the guard or lines when
picking up or holding the trimmer.
Do not force trimmer. It will do the job better and with less likelihood of a risk of injury at the rate for
which it was designed.
When not in use, the string trimmer should be stored indoors in a dry and high or locked-up place, out of
reach of children.
