MEMORY PRESET. AND PRESET. TUNING
HOW TO PRESET
@ The numbers in the illustration refer to the sequence of opera-
tions.
@ Set the POWER Switch to ON.
@ Choose the desired band with the BAND selector.

to preset
using
any tuning
method--Direct, Manual, or Scan Tuning.
@ To preset the station being received, hold down the ENTER key
and press one of the six MEMORY PRESET buttons. The $ to E in-
dications in the Frequency Display show that a station has been
preset to the MEMORY
PRESET button with the same number as
that of the indication. For example, if you preset FM stations to the
MEMORY PRESET buttons 1 and 2, AM stations to the buttons 3, 4,
5 and 6, the KE and
indications will appear in the Frequency
Display when the BAND selector is set to FM, and the indications
El, Ø, El, and M when the BAND selector is set to AM.
Notes
@ The AM 150 kHz frequency is preset to all MEMORY PRESET but-
tons at the factory.
@ Either an FM
station or an AM
station can
be preset to a
MEMORY
PRESET button, for a total of 6 stations. The Li and Lz
keys can be used as MEMORY PRESET buttons, making it possible
to preset 8 stations in all.
e if you want to add a new station and all MEMORY PRESET but-
tons have already been preset, the presetting of one button will
have to be changed.
TO CHECK YOUR PRESETTING
If you get the station just preset by the following steps
@ and @,
you know the presetting is correct and you can get this station
anytime by pressing the MEMORY PRESET button.
O Tune in a station different from the station just preset by Direct,
Manual or Scan Tuning.
@ Press the MEMORY
PRESET
button to which you have just
preset a station.
TO TUNE IN A PRESET STATION
@ Set the POWER switch to ON.
@ Choose the desired band with the BAND selector.
© Press the appropriate MEMORY PRESET button. The preset sta-
tion will be tuned in.
HOW TO TURN THE RADIO OFF
AUTOMATICALLY
Use the sleep timer of this radio to turn it off automatically.

O Set the POWER switch to OFF.

O Press the SLEEP
button. The radio is prepared to receive a
signal. Then tune in the desired station.
O Set the sleep timer by pressing the SLEEP button.
The upper right-hand corner of the Frequency Display will indicate
"90" —the number of minutes before the radio will automatically
turn off. To reduce the number of minutes before the radio will turn
off, press the SLEEP button. The number of minutes indicated in
the display will be reduced by 10 every time the SLEEP button is
pressed. If the button is pressed once more when 10 is displayed,
the display will disappear and the radio will turn off.
@ To turn off the radio before the end of the sleep timer operation,
set the POWER switch to ON and return it to OFF.
Notes
@ If you set the POWER switch to ON during the sleep timer opera-
tion, the sleep timer will be cancelled and the radio will not be turn-
ed off automatically.
e Check that nothing is connected to the Timer Input Jack [O] on
the left side. The sleep timer will not operate if the plug of a timer is
connected to this jack.
