CONTROL OPERATIONS AND FUNCTIONS
AC OPERATION
insert the ac power cord into an ac wall outlet to start operate.
BATTERY OPERATION
to use the appliance with batteries ensure that the ac power
cord is nOt inserted into the appliance and install the batteries
into the battery compartment. to install the batteries:
1. lift off the battery compartment cover from the rear of the
unit.
2. insert 4 x c/lR14/uM-2 1.5V heavy-duty alkaline batteries
in accordance with the diagram in the battery compartment.
take care to observe the correct polarity (+/-).
3. Refit the battery compartment cover.
4. do not expose the battery or the installed battery to
excessive heat (eg fire, sunshine or position close to radiators etc.).
LINE IN JACK
Connect an external audio device, such as CD, MP3 player, via the line in jack to achieve
enhanced sound quality performance.
RADIO OPERATION
1. Rotate the On/OFF VOluME cOntROl knob to turn the radio on and set the Band
sWitch (2) to the desired band position.
2. tune the tunning knOB (1) to the desired broadcast station.
3. Adjust VOLUME CONTROL (3) to the desired level.
4. Extend tElEscOpic antEnna (5) to full extent if you are tuning FM broadcasting.
5. a built-in directional antenna to receive a signal for aM. the best place to locate the unit is
near the window, and change the direction for best reception.

HEADPHONE
For private listening, insert a 3.5mm headphone (not included) into the HEADPHONE JACK (4).
the spEakER (8) will be automatically cut off.
CAUTION: listening at high power for a long moment could damage users`ears.
PRECAUTION AND MAINTENANCE
1. Avoid placing this unit near sources of high temperature such as fireplace or sunlight for long
time as this may result in damages to plastic housing or electrical parts inside the unit.
2. There are no serviceable parts inside the unit. Therefore, do not open the back cover of the
unit. In case of any defect or repair of unit, please refer to qualified service center.

CAUTION

• Minimum distances around the apparatus for sufficient ventilation.

as newspapers, table-cloths, curtains, etc.
• No naked flame sources, such as lighted candles, should be placed on the apparatus.
• The use of apparatus in tropical and/or moderate climates.
• When the mains plug or an appliance coupler is used as the disconnect device, the disconnect
device shall remain readily operable.
• Befor scrapping the appliance, remove the batteries and place them in the appropriate
battery collection container.
