Universal Loading Chargers are equipped with a backlit LCD display and three touch-sensi ve bu ons
that provide communica on between the device and the user.
When switched on,
the display lights up and provides
informa on regarding the model
and so ware release housed on
the charger's internal microprocessor.
Then it provides informa on regarding
the saved charging op ons.
Then the blinking ba ery symbol appears,
indica ng that the device is not connected to a ba ery.
When a ba ery is connected, the charger automa cally
starts charging according to the chosen op ons.
The charging status is symbolized by a progressive scale
and displayed numerically in %.
A er 5 minutes of inac vity on the keypad, the display backlight switches off and on again in case of:
- Connec on of a ba ery;
- End of charging;
- Pressing any bu on.
The Polar Universal Loading Charger allows charging Wet, AGM and GEL type ba eries with nominal
voltages of 2, 6, 12, 24, 36, 48, 64, 72 and 80V with a charging voltage of 10 to 90A.
The 'Desulf' mode enables the desulpha on of sulphated ba eries, ac ng as a constant
current generator with unrestricted voltage for a se able me from 2 to 100 hours in 1-hour steps.
V bu on: The le 'V' bu on sets the voltage between 2V and 80V.
Repeated presses select the values available on the panel.
During charging, it becomes a Start/Stop bu on. In this case, if the finger is held down for 3 seconds,
the charger stops and allows the ba ery to be disconnected. A er 5 seconds, if the ba ery is s ll
connected, charging restarts.
MODE bu on: The central "MODE" bu on, before connec ng the ba ery, sets the opera ng mode
of the charger, allowing a choice between the 5 charging curves and the "Desulf" mode.
The charging curves differ from each other in their end-of-charge voltage and are to be selected
depending on the type of ba ery to be charged.
The end-of-charge voltages of the five curves, expressed in volts per individual element, are:
Ba ery technology
WET
WET DEEP
AGM1
AGM2
GEL
The 'Desulf' mode enables the desulpha on of sulphated ba eries, ac ng as a constant current
generator with unlimited tension for a se able me from 2 to 100 hours in steps of 1 hour.
The 'V' key sets the maximum me, the 'A' key sets the current output.
The charger automa cally starts desulpha ng when the ba ery is connected.
