6.2. - STANDARD BATTERY CHARGER FEATURES

The NCS battery charger of the Astra Cressi-sub torch (16-code
no. SJ 540002) (fig. 10A - 10B) allows to slowly re-charge - with
constant current - the Ni-Cd "ENERGIZER" cells mod. EC5000D
Hi-Hat 1.2V-5.0Ah, supplied with the rechargeable Astra version.
When the battery charger works, two LEDs turn on, on the char-
ger front:
Green LED = power supply;
Yellow LED = charging.
The battery charger is also equipped with the following protec-
tion systems:
- Internal fuse on 220V power supply - 200 mA, 5x20 size;
- Thermal cut-out switch on the primary (220 V side) and on the
secondary (8 V side), provided by the control PCB;
- Protection against reversed battery-to-charger discharge.
220V mains power supply and 500 mA output current, with con-
stantly stabilized charging.

7 - MAINTENANCE

Flush out the torch with fresh water after every dive, without
disassembling it.
Periodically check the torch O-rings and lubricate them with a
thin layer of silicone grease.
Never touch the various components with the fingers. Clean them
with a dry cloth after putting them back in place.
Remove every trace of dirt, especially from the torch case threads
and from the closing ring nut.
Do not use solvents to clean the dish.
Periodically use proper antioxidants to protect electrical connections.
Keep the torch in a dry and cool place, and in any case in a pla-
ce where the temperature never exceeds 50° C.
Take the batteries out of the battery pack if you do not plan
to use the torch for longer periods of time.
Twist off the ring nut and take the lens cover out if you do
not plan to use the torch for longer periods of time.

8- WARRANTY

Cressi-sub warrants to the original owner that the Astra torch is
free from defects in workmanship and materials for 1 year since
the date of purchase.
This warranty DOES NOT cover damage due to misuse, poor
maintenance, accidents such as impacts or falls, prolonged expo-
sure to high temperature, negligence, or alteration, or unauthori-
zed repair. Also, failure to properly comply with the instructions
set out in this manual or to carry out proper maintenance shall
cause the warranty to automatically expire.
This Warranty excludes products not directly manufactured by
Cressi-sub, such as bulbs, batteries and cells, and the battery
charger.
The warranty cannot be transferred by the original owner to third
parties. The warranty period begins on the date of purchase (as
indicated in the invoice or purchase receipt).
All repair works not covered by this warranty shall be borne by
the owner.
The warranty does not cover any document or other warranty
issued by the retailer or by agents beyond the terms covered by
the warranty.
No retailer or agent shall be authorized to change this warranty
or to provide for an additional one.
For warranty repair, send the product, carriage paid, to your Cres-
