8. Keep the work area clean and tidy.
Untidy areas may lead to injury. Get rid of unused tools, waste, furniture etc. from the work site.
9. Keep children away from the working area.
Do not allow visitors to come into contact with the compressor's extension lead. All visitors must remain
at a safe distance away from the working area.
10. Wear suitable clothing.
Do not wear loose clothing or jewellery. These risk getting caught in the moving parts. Keep long hair
covered with a protective hat.
11. Handle the cord with care.
Do not yank the cord to disconnect it from the power supply. Protect the cord from heat, oil and sharp
edges.
12. Diligently maintain the compressor.
Follow the lubrication instructions. Inspect the cords at regular intervals and if damaged, have them
repaired by an authorised service centre.
13. Use the correct extension cable.
In order to avoid any risk of electrical shock, use a 3-core extension cable with a 3-pin earthling plug
and a 3-core earthing plug adaptor. Ensure that the extension cable is in good working order. If the
cable is damaged, repair or replace it. The cable must offer sufficient power for the current in the
machine. A insufficiently powerful cable shall cause a drop in voltage or a loss of electric energy, which
will cause the device to overheat. The table below shows which size cable should be used according
to the length of the cable.
If the compressor has to be used, only use a single extension cable.
14. Stay alert at all times.
Always pay attention to what is happening. Use common sense. Do not operate the compressor if tired.
The compressor must never be used by someone under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or medication
that can cause drowsiness.
15. Check for damaged parts and air leaks.
Before continuing to use the compressor, a protective guard or any damaged part must be checked in
detail to ensure it works correctly and carries out its anticipated role. Check the moving parts are cor-
rectly aligned when moved and check they are correctly connected when they move. Also check for
broken parts, faulty assembly, for air leaks or any other conditions that could affect operation of the tool.
Protective guards or any other damaged parts must be correctly repaired or replaced by an authorised
service centre listed in these Operating Instructions. Have faulty pressure switches repaired by an
authorised service centre.
Do not use the compressor if the changeover switch is unable to activate or deactivate it.
16. Use the compressor correctly.
Operate the compressor according to the above instructions. Never allow the compressor to be oper-
ated by children, by persons who are not fully briefed on how it works or by unauthorised staff.
17. Ensure all screws, bolts and covers are in place.
Ensure all the screws, bolts and covers are maintained in good condition. Check them at regular inter-
vals.
18. Keep the engine's air vent clean at all times.
The engine's air vent must be clean so that air can flow freely at all times. Carry out regular checks to
ensure there are no dust deposits.
