The High-Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) is a digital audio/video connector
interface for transmitting uncompressed digital streams. HDMI supports, on a single
cable, all video formats including standard, enhanced, and high-definition, as well as
multi-channel digital audio. To enjoy the enhanced audio and video quality that HDMI
offers, you need an HD Ready television with HDMI connections.
You then simply need to select the maximum resolution supported by your television in
the menu:
- 1280x720p (720p)
- 1920x1080i (1080i}
- 1920x1080p (1080p)
Note: "p" signifies progressive, while "i" signifies interlaced.
To activate the HDMI mode of your DVD Player:
-
After connecting the audio/video cable (see description above), simply connect
an HDMI cable from the DVD Player to your TV (cable not included).
-
To turn to the HDMI mode: press the SETUP button on the remote control.
Then, use the directional buttons on the remote control to select the second
menu "VIDEO" to change the video output (4th option) to "HD". Finally, select
the maximum HDMI resolution depending on your television configuration, as
described above.
-
Note: You can also use the "VIDEO" and "HDMI" buttons on the remote
control to gain direct access to your selected video mode and resolution
definition.

HDMI Connection Utilisation Note:
If you select a HDMI resolution which is not supported by your television (for
example, you choose the optimal 1080p resolution while your television only
supports up to 720p), you will get a black screen. In this case, plug the Audio/Video
cable provided as mentioned above, and then press the "VIDEO" (or "HDMI")
button of the remote control to return to composite video input mode. The screen
will be readable again. You can then choose a lower resolution that is supported by
your television.
