5. Maintenance + cleaning
A stringed instrument is very sensitive.
Therefore, take great care to avoid mechanical damage
and extreme heat or cold.
The ideal is a humidity of 40%-65% and
a room temperature of about 20 degrees Celcius.
Clean your instrument regularly with a dry, soft cloth. It is best to
do this after each playing session to avoid heavy soiling
from sweat and colophon. Cleaning agents containing alcohol or
thinner are not suitable, as they can damage the varnish,
among other things. Special cleaning agents for instruments are
available from specialist dealers.
