1. Insert the battery (13) into the planer slot and press the
battery until you hear the "click" of the lock/unlock
button (12). At this point the battery is fully secured;
2. To remove, press the lock/unlock button and pull out the
battery.
Use VITO's 20V lithium-ion batteries.
1. Place the battery (13) in the charger as you would place
it in the machine;
2. Plug the charger into the socket and let it charge.
Sometimes at the end of charging, both the battery and the
charger can be hot, but this does not mean that they are
malfunctioning.
Let the battery cool down before fitting into the machine.
1. Fit the parallel guide (1) onto the bracket (3);
2. Insert and tighten the parallel guide fixing bolt (2);
3. Fit the parallel guide fixing bracket to the planer and
tighten the fixing bolt of the bracket (5).
The parallel guide can be mounted on both sides of
the planer.
1. Attach the rebate depth guide (14) to the planer;
2. Insert and tighten the fixing bolt (15) of the rebate depth
guide.
The rebate depth guide must be fitted on the right
side of the planer.
To keep the work surface clean use the dust and shavings
collecting bag.
1. Insert the collection bag retaining accessory in the dust
port (8).
Never remove the collection bag or attempt to
remove any obstruction while the blades are
rotating.
Always wear protective gloves when changing blades.
The blades should always be sharpened or replaced
at the same time. Otherwise, the machine will become
unbalanced which will cause vibrations and decrease the
electric planer's service life.
1. Lay the planer with the base plate facing upwards;
2. Turn the roller until the bolts of one of the blades are
visible;
3. Loosen and remove the blade fixing bolts;
4. Pull the blade retaining plate outwards;
5. Remove the blade and sharpen it;
6. Set the blade position on the adjustment bolts according
to the wear on the blade. This guarantees the cutting
depth defined in the technical data of the planer;
7. Attach the blade to the roller. Align the holes of the
blade and adjustment bolt with the notch and the holes
of the roller respectively;
8. Fit the blade retaining plate and tighten the bolts;
9. Turn the roller 180° and repeat the procedure for the
other blade.
After the blade's installation and before using the
power tool, test it at full speed at no load for a while.
Check for misalignment of the blade or any other condition
that may affect the power tool's operation. Check that all
moving parts rotate smoothly, without abnormal noises.
