1/HOW TO LOAD THE ROLL-PAPER
Either external or built-in roll-paper may be used
with this unit.

1} Turn the power switch on.
2' Slide open the upper cover and lift it off (Fig.

= Cut across the paper to form a clean end (Fig.

pressing the F® kev. The feed mechanism will
then take the pape: through the printer (Fig. 4).
Flip the roll-holde: forward and replace the up-
per cover and sez ine roll-paper onto the roll-
holder (Fig. 5, 6.
"Se sure to use the specified standard roll-paper
'size: 58mm x 8BOmmce}.

Feeding from the pattom of the roll, insert the
roll end into the interna! feed siot (Fig. 7).

2/HOW TO CHANGE THE INK
ROLLER

rolier (Cartridge typé:.
K impressions are toc iignt or illegibie, replace the
ink roller with a new one.
7° Open the printer cover.
=. Remove the ink role: by pulling it straight up
(Fig. 10).
2} Install a new ink rolier (Fig. 171).

4) Make sure that the ink rote' is in place. anc
replace
the covet.
NOTE:
Never fill the ink roller with fluid ink as it may run
or clog the printer. Use only Casio ink cartridge
(IR-40).

"e ALL RESET button
Before using the calculator for the first time, and
after you replace batteries, press this button with
such as a ball-point pen.
Auto power off
if the unit is left approximately 6 minutes after
the last key operation, the power will be auto-
matically cut off and display will blank out.
Press

calculations.
When power Is resumed, contents of the memory
and a designated decimal mode can be protected.
(4 Clear key
Clears entry for correction, and releases overflow
or error check.

Clears the entire machine except the memory,
and releases
overflow
or error check.
=o} Paper feed key
Advances
the roll-paper.
Print OFF/ON
switch key
Activates the printer function. Each press of this
key alternates the OFF/ON condition. OFF (dis-
play clear) or ON (PRT on display).
Print key
Prints the displayed number even with the printer
unction
deactivatec
(when
is not
displayed).
Prints an entry such as a date, code number, etc.
Round key
Designates the decima! mode. Each time this key
is pressed,
the mode
will change
in sequence
from ''F'' to '5/4' to ""CUT"' to ''F''. Designat-
ed mode will be shown
on the display.
F:
The decimal! ficats and the underflow sys-
tem works to protect the significant digits.
5/4:
The answer is automatically rounded off
to
2 decimal
places,
applying
floating
mode for entry and intermediate
result.
CUT:
The answer is cut off in a similar way to
the above.

plus (minus) key
Transfers the number
displayed to the memory
positively (negatively).
Obtains answer in four functions and automati-
cally accumulates ft into the memory positively
{negatively}.
(urk} Memory recall key
Recalis
the contents
of the memory
without
clearing.
iMC Memory
clear key
Clears the contents
of the memory.
(4; Percent key
Performs percentage calculations, including ac
ons,
discounts
and mark-ups.

4-1 Handling of the calculator
*Since the unit contains precise electronic cor
ponents,
never attempt to disassemble
it.
*"Be careful
not to drop the unit or handle
roughly.
* Avoid operating the keys roughly. Two or mo
keys should not be pressed simultaneously |
this may damage the unit.
* Avoid using the unit in extreme temperatur
(below 32°F or O°C, or above 104°F or 40°C
Also protect the unit from extremely dusty |
humid conditions.
*The unit should be operated oniy when the ro
paper is set properly and keys are pressed firm
and separately.
*When the printer does not work normally as
result of paper jam or exhausted battery powe
the display shows 'E' on the left and 'P' on tt
right. In this case, remove the jammed paper |
replace the batteries with new ones.
*Never use volatile fluid such as lacquer thinne
benzine, etc. for cleaning the unit.
*Never use the calculator with the printer fun
tion activated without roll-paper.
4-2 Buffer register
This calculator is equipped with an input buffe
register which retains up to 7 key-in, whethe
numeral entries or function commands.
This feature enables very fast operation eve
while the previous entry is being processed.
4-3 Overflow
check

Overflow occurs:
a) When the integer part of an answer, whethe
intermediate or final, exceeds
10 digits.
b) When the integer part of an accumulated tc
tal in the memory
exceeds
10 digits.
In the case of a), however, it displays the signif
cant digits of the answer and the decimal poir
indicates
that the true
decimal
position is 17.
digits to the right.
To release the overflow check, press the
C
(4 key.

clears only the indicator ''E'' and the displaye
