• Mount the dust box (5) onto the dust outlet
adapter (6).
• Subsequently mount the assembly onto the
dust outlet (7) of the machine (4).
Note: The dust box should be emptied when the
box is half full to maintain optimal dust collection.
Mounting and removing sanding paper (Fig. B, D)
Mounting
• Place the machine on its side with the V-belt
cover (14) facing downwards.
• Release the clamping lever (12).
• Mount a sanding belt (11) with the required
grain size around the sanding pad and the
sanding belt rollers (17, 18). Make sure that the
arrow on the inside of the sanding belt points in
the same direction as the arrow on the housing.
• Make sure that the sanding belt (11) is straight
and centred around the sanding pad and the
sanding belt rollers (17, 18).
• Tighten the clamping lever (12).
Removing
• Place the machine on its side with the V-belt
cover (14) facing downwards.
• Release the clamping lever (12).
• Remove the sanding belt (11).
• Tighten the clamping lever (12).
Centring the sanding belt (fig. B, E)
If the sanding belt does not run parallel with the
outer edge of the housing, the sanding belt must
be centred.
• Turn the centring knob (13) clockwise to move
the sanding belt (11) to the inside.
• Turn the centring knob (13) counterclockwise to
move the sanding belt (11) to the outside.
4. OPERATION
Switching on and off (Fig. A, B)
• To switch on the machine, press the on/off
switch (1).
• To switch the machine to continuous mode,
keep the on/off switch (1) pressed and simulta-
neously press the lock-on button (2).
• To switch off continuous mode, press the on/off
switch (1) again.
• To switch off the machine, release the on/off
switch (1).

Setting the speed (Fig. A, B)
The speed adjustment wheel is used for setting the
speed. The ideal speed depends on the required
grain size and on the material to be worked.
Do not set the speed during use.
Adjusting the auxiliary handle (Fig. B, F)
The auxiliary handle (8) can be adjusted in several
positions to accommodate a comfortable working
position. To adjust the position:
• Release the lever for auxiliary handle (9).
• Adjust the auxiliary handle (8) to the desired
position.
• Tighten the lever for auxiliary handle (9).
Fold up the front cover (Fig. A, G)
The front cover (15) of the machine can be folded
up, allowing for sanding in hard-to-reach areas.
Consider, for example, the underside of a table.
Make sure to fold the front cover (15) back into
position once the functionality is no longer needed.
Hints for optimum use
• Use a coarse sanding belt (grain 60) for sanding
rough, uneven surfaces.
• Use a medium sanding belt (grain 80) for remo-
ving the remaining scratches from the coarse
sanding belt.
• Use a fine sanding belt (grain 120) for finishing
surfaces.
• Clamp the workpiece.
• Hold the machine with one hand on the main
grip and the other hand on the auxiliary grip.
• Switch on the machine.
• Place the sanding belt on the workpiece.
• Slowly move the machine over the workpiece,
firmly pressing the sanding belt against the
workpiece.
• Do not apply too much pressure on the machi-
ne. Let the machine do the work.
• Switch off the machine and wait for the ma-
chine to come to a complete standstill before
putting the machine down.
• Employ a moderate feed rate and utilize parallel
and overlapping strokes for sanding.
• Always sand in the direction of the grain to
achieve an even sanding result, especially when
dealing with varnish. Sanding against the grain
can cause varnish to melt and smear the work-
piece and sanding belt.
