Installation
Mounting the module
To mount the module inside the xGenConnect, follow the steps
shown in Figure 3.
Connecting the module
Connect the module to the xGen bus using the xGen bus
terminals (Figure 2, item 3).
Use 2-pair twisted shielded data cable such as WCAT52 or
WCAT54 to connect the module to the xGen bus.
The module provides terminals for zone inputs, and
auxiliary/common for power. Power is taken from the xGen
bus. Refer to xGenConnect Installation and Programming
Manual for current limitations for the relevant standard.
Put a TERM jumper (Figure 2, item 5) on the first and the last
module on a cable run to ensure correct RS-485 termination
and to avoid communication issues with signal reflection, etc.
Wire the sensors to the zone inputs. See xGenConnect
Installation and Programming Manual for details.
Enrolling the module
Automatic enrollment
Push and hold the enrollment button on the xGenConnect
panel for 2 seconds. The panel is now in automatic enrollment
mode and will search for the new module.
If the enrollment is successful, the CONFIG LED will blink once
every 2 seconds.
Manual enrollment
Follow these steps to enroll the module:
1.
Login to the xGenConnect panel via panel web server as
installer.
2.
Click Advanced > Devices > System Devices > Control >
Device 1.
3.
Go To Enroll Function.
4.
Select Manual enroll.
5.
Click Save.
6.
Press and hold the LEARN button (Figure 2, item 6) until
the CONFIG LED (item 7) blinks, then release the button.
Proceed to programming the system and the additional
modules. See xGenConnect Installation and Programming
Manual for details.
Firmware
The module firmware is remotely upgradeable using DLX900
or locally with a USBUP via the USBUP port on the module
(Figure 2, item 4).
