Product Summary
Part: NXG-7000 (with SIM card), NXG-7001 (without SIM card)
This module adds 3G mobile communication to the xGen alarm
panel, allowing alarm reporting and remote connection over the
3G mobile network via the UltraSync Cloud solution. A SIM
card is pre-installed and should not be removed.
Note:
Carrier reserves the right to check if the Carrier SIM card
is used in the correct modem. Improper use of the modem or
SIM card can result in the product to stop operating with the
UltraSync infrastructure.
Installing the Module
1.
A mobile phone can provide general guidance on mobile
network coverage.
Look at the network coverage on a mobile phone to verify
there are 4/5 to 5/5 bars of reception in the location where
you will install the xGen alarm panel.

Low
If the signal strength on your mobile phone is low, find
another location which has stronger network coverage.
Note: The actual signal strength can only be determined
by logging in to the xGen panel. The 3G module may
connect to a different network than your phone.
2.
If a 3G module is pre-installed on the xGen CPU, skip to
the Check Network Coverage section.
If not, remove the cover by releasing the four (4) side clips
with a flat blade screwdriver (see Figure 1).
3.
Locate the 16-pin header on the xGen main board and
insert the board-to-board connector (see Figure 2).
4.
Remove the 3G module from the packaging.
5.
Align the 3G module on the 16-pin header. Push down
until the pins come through the header. Take care not to
bend the pins (see Figure 3).
6.
Install the antenna by aligning the connector and pressing
down until you hear a "click" (see Figure 4).
7.
Align the smaller cover included with the NXG-7000 and
press down until all four (4) clips lock into place. The
original larger cover is no longer of use at this stage. You
may want to peel off the serial number bar code label from
the original cover and place it on the smaller cover just
installed and this for future reference (see Figure 5).
8.
Your assembled xGen panel should look like shown in
Figure 6.
