serving dishes etc. must always be placed with their front side pointing down. Cutlery should be
put into the cutlery basket with the handles pointing down. Particularly long pieces of cutlery
should be placed horizontally.
WARNING! Knives and other utensils with sharp ends must be placed with the sharp end
pointing down or horizontally in the basket.
7.1.2 NOT SUITABLE FOR THE DISHWASHER
 Cutlery and crockery made in part or in full from wood should not be put in the dishwasher.
Additionally, the adhesives used are not suitable for the temperatures in dishwashers.
 Delicate decorative glassware and vases, special antique or irreplaceable porcelain. The
decorative patterns on such items are often not dishwasher-safe.
 Plastic items that cannot withstand hot water, as well as copper and tin crockery, are also
unsuitable. Decorative patterns printed or painted onto the surface of crockery, glasses, etc.,
and aluminium and sliver items tend to become discoloured or faded when they are washed
in the dishwasher. Some types of glass may become opaque after repeated washing in the
dishwasher.
 Highly absorbent materials, such as sponges and hand towels, should not be put in the
dishwasher.
 IMPORTANT! Crockery or cutlery soiled with tobacco ash, wax, lubricant or dye should not be
put in the dishwasher.
7.1.3 DAMAGE TO GLASS AND CROCKERY
Possible causes:
 Type of glass or method of manufacture
 Water temperature and duration of the dishwasher programme.
Proposed solution:
 Use glass or porcelain crockery labelled as "dishwasher-safe" by the manufacturer.
 Use a mild detergent designated as "gentle on dishes". Get more information from the
manufacturers of detergents, if necessary.
 Select a programme with a lower temperature and the shortest possible duration.
 To avoid damage, remove glass and cutlery from the dishwasher as quickly as possible after
the programme has ended.
