DEFINITION:
Each pixel consists of a red, green and blue sub-pixel.
When a sub-pixel is in a fixed state, the visible result is a tiny black, white, or coloured dot that appears on the
screen.
There are three types of defective subpixels:
1.
Bright defective subpixels: white, bright, always on,
2.
Defective dark subpixels: black, always off,
3.
Defective red, green, or blue sub-pixels: stuck on, or off
During the LCD manufacturing process, it is not uncommon for one or more sub-pixels to remain fixed to the
point of forming a bright or dead pixel. A display with 1 to 5 frozen sub-pixels is considered normal and meets
industry standards.
