Power cables without plugs must be connected to a
switch in compliance with the relative local
regulations. The system must be equipped with a
residual current device (RCD) with a trip current lower
than 30 mA.
The device must be connected to an external network
switch with a distance of, at least, 3 mm at all sides.
- Electrical wiring must be performed by qualified personnel in
compliance with relative local regulations.
- The device may be powered by a generator or by an
alternative energy supply provided that power supply
requirements have been satisfied.
- Connect the device to a power source through the cable and
the plug supplied.
- Connect the products without the supplied cable by following
the instructions listed below:
1. Remove the cover from the forward part of the device.
2. Carry out the electrical wiring according to the electrical
diagram (fig. 4/a).
3. Fix the cover with all the screws and make sure to close
the cable gland rings to maintain the IP65 protection class.
fig 4
Pumps with higher power than the one indicated in paragraph
"Technical Characteristics" of this manual can be connected
through a contactor (fig.4/b). The same applies for three-phase
pumps (fig.4/c).
10. STARTUP
The device starts and stops the pump automatically according
to the water request.
1. Check if the pump is correctly primed.
2. Open a tap.
3. Give voltage, the device starts the pump and keeps it
running, green and yellow lights are on.
4. Close the tap, after a few seconds the device stops the
pump, and the yellow light turns off.
The system is now ready to work.
If the device stops the pump with an open tap, and the red
light turns on, it is necessary to check the correct priming of
the pump.
To reset the system, keep the restart button pressed until the
red light turns off and the water flows from the tap.
In case of a temporary power outage, the device restarts
automatically when power returns.
AUTOMATIC RESTART
In case of water shortage, the device will automatically make 10
double attempts to restart during the 24 hours following the failure,
each lasting approximately 5 seconds, to allow the pump and the
system to reload, if possible. The user can, however, try at any time
to restart the device by keeping the restart button pressed.
ANTI-JAMMING FUNCTION
If, for any reason, the pump stays off for 24 consecutive hours,
the device will carry out a startup of the pump motor for about
5 seconds.
RESTART PRESSURE ADJUSTMENT – R VERSION
It is possible to set the desired restart value (from 1.5 to 3
bar) by turning the screw located on the back of the device.
Turn clockwise to increase the restart and counterclockwise
to decrease it (fig.6/a). For correct adjustment, follow the
instructions given in Figure 6/b.
11. FROST PROTECTION
If the device is exposed to frost during inactive periods, the
device and the system must be drained.
1. Remove the voltage from the device.
2. Interrupt the system water supply and discharge the
pressure by opening a tap.
3. Empty the system at the lowest point. Check that the device
and the pump are drained separately.
