USE
• This series of screwdrivers has been particularly designed in order to quickly fasten and loosen screws and nuts with
high tightening torques, with no effort on the part of the user.
• OBER S.p.A. cannot be responsible for any damage by those customers who use these screwdrivers for other
applications without the previous consent of OBER S.p.A. about that use.
SAFETY OF USE
• The tool should be used only as a screwing device: only bush keys specially designed for this screwdriver and the
accessories listed in this manual should be fitted onto the square shaft outlet equipped with pin, hole or stop ring.
• Handle the screwdriver properly, resting it onto the nut to be screwed down. Never point it towards yourself, nor
towards other people.
• Carry the screwdriver catching it by the handle, without pulling the starting lever. Do not use it in the wrong way, as a
hammer, as a pushing device, or whatsoever.
• Always disconnect the screwdriver from the power supply when not in use.
• According to the position and the intensity of use fit the accessory hook into the special grips of the upper body, to be
connected to a proper balancer.
• For an extended use, wear special anti-noise earphones.
GUIDE TO CORRECT USE
• Always use a screwdriver with a tightening torque corresponding to the one required by the particular application.
• If you have used a torque higher than that required by mistake:
if this occurred while screwing, change the bolt and rethread the stripped thread.
if this occurred while unscrewing, change the bolt and check the thread.
• If you have used a lower torque, fasten with a screwdriver up to the appropriate torque, in order to avoid any damage
due to non-secure tightening.
• Avoid operating at a pressure higher than the required one: you will save energy, produce less noise, and reduce the
screwdriver wear.
SCREWDRIVING
Push the inverting lever (B) to the stop. Push the lever (C) to start the motor and check that the rotation direction of the
tool coincides with the required one, otherwise push the lever (B) from the opposite part after releasing the lever (C). Fit
the tool into the part to be screwed down and keep fastening until you hear the typical hammering of the impact wrenches
which has reached the tightening torque. Releasing the lever, the motor stops.
TORQUE ADJUSTING DEVICE
All machines, with the exception of the IMP34, feature a special regulator (D) to adjust the torque. The regulator is not
fitted on the IMP34 because it might cause excessive wear to internal machine components.
REVERSIBILITY
Operate the screwdriver as for fastening.
PROBLEMS IN STARTING
If the tool connected to the compressed air supply should not turn on, make sure the supply lever is not blocked, place a
few drops of naphtha in the connection to the air supply and try once again to start the tool. If the motor still does not run,
unplug the tool and try to start it up again by turning the shaft manually.
WARNING Manual rotation of the motor shaft of a machine which is not connected to the
compressed air supply may cause incorrect positioning of the impellers and consequent jamming of
the machine itself. In this case, do not force the movement but connect the machine to the
compressed air supply and turn it on to solve the problem.
DECREASED POWER
Make sure that the air is properly lubricated. Make sure the air inlet and the gauze filter are not obstructed or dirty and, if
necessary, clean them with naphtha. Make sure the exhaust deflector is not blocked and, if necessary, clean the silencer-
felt with naphtha. Do not remove the felt: this would result in a slightly higher performance, but at the same time it would
increase noise beyond the foreseen levels.
!
ATTENTION: ALWAYS TURN OFF THE SUPPLY OF COMPRESSED AIR BEFORE PERFORMING ANY
OPERATIONS BESIDES SCREWDRIVING.
