How it works
The FeinControl can learn the most important keyboard commands of an existing infrared remote control and
then send them like the original. The few and large buttons make it easy to operate - ideal for senior citizens. The
switchable lighting simplifies operation in the dark.
If required, the FeinControl can copy individual commands from a third remote control. For example, you can
copy the programme selection buttons from the TV, but the volume control from the audio amplifier. You can
assign the buttons according to your own preferences.
Compatibility
The FeinControl remote control only supports infrared commands. However, some remote controls nowadays use
Bluetooth or radio, which are not compatible. An infrared remote control sends a signal using infrared light. This
light cannot be seen directly by the human eye. However, you can make it visible using a digital camera, mobile
phone camera or camcorder. Check whether your infrared remote control is sending a signal. Open the camera
app on a smartphone. Point the end of the remote control with the infrared transmitter at the camera lens. Look
into the viewfinder display. Press one of the buttons on the remote control. When the remote control sends an
infrared signal, you will see a light in the app. This may be a faint pink or white light. If nothing lights up, it is prob-
ably a non-compatible RF or Bluetooth remote control.
