The electric conduction cable must be fixed to the pipe on the upper and lower side of every union by the
used of clamps. Every care shall be taken to avoid any frictions of the cable with the well edges as it might
go damage, otherwise.
Verify the submergible cable. Verify the cable insulation during the installation by the above named
insulation measurer, especially when the pump is lowered down below the water level. A terminal of the
measurer must be connected to the well tubing and the other to the Cooper joined parts, they both being
completely dry and earth insulated. Keep on verifying when lowering every length of tube. If the cable goes
damaged, the insulating resistance will substantially decrease. Assembly cannot be pursued if this anomaly
is not overcome first.
Another very important point to be borne in mind is the pump's suction strainer must be over the tubing
filters so that the pumped water can cool the motor. The strainer must never be in front of them.
The Group must be completely hanging on the day frame by the pumping pipe
VERY IMPORTANT: Safety water finders must necessarily be installed, so that once the water has lowered
below the previously set minimum level, the Group can stop thus obviating substantial damages.
STARTING PROCEDURE.
If the electric pump fails to start (no "run-up"), do not repeatedly attempt to start as this could damage the
unit. Identify the malfunction and repair. If an indirect starting system is used, the starting transient must be
brief and must never exceed a few seconds. The motor shall never be started prior to a control device and
protection against overloading and phase failure having been installed. The correct voltage of the three
phases shall be verified at all times.
Where news wells are involved, start with the discharge valve being closed with a minimum water left seen
from the well day frame.
Verify the motor rotating direction. The pump can supply flow even thought it is rotating in an opposite
direction but in this case, both the flow and pressure are much lower.
Keep pumping the min. flow of water till it is completely clean. Once a clean water has been obtained, the
valve shall be opened a bit more till the water and sand start flowing again. In this case, keep the flow till
clean water in obtained again. This operation is of paramount importance for the duration of the Group and
it avoids releases of sand prone to damage the Group as it must operate with clean water. Thus, this
operation must be carried out slowly.
If fluctuations in both the flow and the ammeter are found once the adjusting valve has been opened, the
reason should be that the well is not supplying the amount of water removed by the pump and there is air
suction. Thus, the flow provided by the pump shall be adjusted if the above anomaly is to be obviated.
The minimum water level must be at least 1 meter above the pump casing. It's advisable to install probes to
prevent pump from running with water below minimum level.
Following the start, compare the ammeter reading with the amperage started on the characteristics plate
which shall never be exceeded at all. Also verify such other characteristics as voltage and frequency.
