e. To sand right up to the edge, remove the
removable nose section (1b.–3b. – refer to page
*12* and *13*): Release the fitting on the click
mechanism of the sanding head nose section by
pressing it downwards and first remove it on the
left and then on the right of the sanding head.
Reassembly is carried out with the same steps in
reverse order (1c.–3c. – refer to page *13* and
*14*).
Attention! the power plug has to be
pulled from the wall socket or not
plugged in for all the assembly and disman-
tling actions described below! Wait until the
driving disc has come to a complete stop!
f. To turn the machine off, push the on/off switch
to the position 0 (refer to page *3*). The safety
catch then functions automatically. The abrasive
will now run on. Wait for this movement to stop
completely before putting the machine down.
5.5 longlife technology
The product has been explicitly designed for inten-
sive long-term professional use, it is equipped with
MENZER Longlife Technology and thus fulfills all
requirements professionals in this trade or from an
industrial background may need.
Its high performance engine continually pro-
vides the machine with largely sufficient energy
reserves and thus guarantees for the possibility
of long-term use. The product's highly efficient
drive furthermore guarantees for a permanently
elevated removal rate and complies even with the
highest professional standards.
MENZER long-neck sanders are furthermore
equipped with a direct drive transmitting the en-
gine's operating power directly to the sanding disc.
Other than with traditional long-neck sanders,
power is transferred in away to make the ma-
chine's use much more ware-proof thus leading to
a decrease in repair related downtime.
The product's design combines high quality
materials and intelligent electronics: Soft-start
and overload protection technology shield the
mechanical and electronic components in case of
peak loads and postpone wear and tear incidents.
MENZER Longlife Technology in combination with
the extended manufacturer's warranty for
MENZER PRO LINE products thus provides you
with highly performing and long-lasting products.

6. Maintenance and servicing/repairs
6.1 general
The power plug has to be pulled from the wall
socket before any work on the machine!
Do not use water or other liquid detergent!
All housing parts, controls and joints must be
blown off regularly with clean, dry compressed air!
Make sure that the air vents on the housings are
always clear and clean!
Before operating the machine, regularly check that
mains cables, plugs and other machine compo-
nents are not damaged, and have them replaced
by our MENZER service when necessary!
All repairs to the machine and any work that
requires housing components to be opened must
be performed by MENZER service!
6.2 Changing the abrasive
(page *15*)
Pull the used abrasive from the sanding pad
(1a.–3a. – refer to page *15*), and press the new
abrasive on in the same position (refer to page
*6*), make sure it is centred. It is held in place by
the Velcro system. Select the appropriate grit size
for the application.
Never use the machine without abrasives.
Sanding with the Velcro pad would
destroy it.
6.3 Changing the sanding pad
(page *16* and *17*)
With the Velcro layer on both sides, the round
sanding pad is easily removed by pulling it off the
back pad and pressing on a new, perfectly centred
sanding pad (1b.–4b.).
Attention! To ensure that the working
environment is as dust free as possible, the
suction openings must match the openings of
the driving disc.
For the best sanding result, the sanding pad
must be completely flat. Damaged pads
must be replaced before further sanding.
6.4 Replacing the driving disc
(page *18* and *19*)
To replace the driving disc first loosen/pull the
sanding pad from the driving disc (refer to 6.3
Changing the sanding pad). Now tighten the
threaded axle in the centre of the driving disc with
the supplied Allen key (1c.). Now the driving disc
can be turned and removed in the direction of
rotation of the machine by the threaded axle (2c.).
The new driving disc is simply screwed on against
the rotational direction of the machine by hand
until it stops (1d. and 2d.). Now you can refit the
sanding pad (refer to 6.3 Changing the sanding
pad).
Tightening by Allen key is not necessary.
6.5 replacing the brush rim
(page *20* and *21*)
If the brush rim of the sanding head is worn or
damaged, it must be replaced.
To replace the brush rim, loosen/pull the abrasive
from the driving disc (6.2 Changing the abrasive).
Remove the screws that hold the brush rim, and
then the brush rim itself (1e.–3e.).
Install the new brush rim in the old position and
retighten it with the screws (4e.).
Now you can refit the abrasive (refer to 6.2 Chang-
ing the abrasive).
