Safety Instruc�ons
• To avoid possible electrical shock, do not immerse pump in water.
If pump falls into the water, or otherwise becomes wet, do not
reach for it un�l you have first unplugged it.
• To prevent possible electrical shock resul�ng from water back-
siphoning, pump should be used with a check-valve or posi�oned
higher than the water level.
• Carefully examine appliance a�er installa�on. It should not be
plugged in if there is water on parts not intended to get wet.
• Do not operate appliance if it has a damaged cord or plug, or if it
is malfunc�oning, or if it is dropped or damaged in any manner.
• When removing filters, airstones or air-operated ornaments from
aquarium, do not let water run into the pump. Leave pump
running and prevent back-siphoning by removing the open end of
the tubing from the pump nozzle and taping it to the top frame
of the aquarium.
• Always unplug appliance from an outlet when not in use. Never
yank cord to remove plug from outlet. Grasp plug and pull to
disconnect.
• Do not install appliance where it will be exposed to weather, or to
temperatures below freezing.
• Read and observe all important no�ces on the appliance and in
the product literature.
