WARNINGS AND CAUTIONS:

• DO NOT install to control a receptacle, fluorescent lighting, a motor- or a transformer-operated appliance other than appropriate ceiling fans.
• For use on ceiling paddle fans with split-capacitor or shaded pole motors only and marked as suitable for use with a solid-state fan speed control and is rated 120 volts,
5 amperes maximum. Please refer to fan manufacturer's instructions or rating labels on the motor to confirm type.
Use of any other types of motors or equipment may cause overheating and/or damage to the motors or equipment.

MULTI-FAN CONTROL
Any number of fans of the same type may be controlled by a single fan speed control provided that the total amperage of the fans does not exceed the amperage rating of the
fan speed control.
GANGING / DERATING
When combinations of dimmers and/or speed controls are installed in a ganged wall or outlet box, de-rating is required. When two speed controls or one dimmer and one speed
control are mounted in a ganged box, the maximum load per speed control shall not exceed 4 amps. When three or more speed controls and dimmers are mounted in a ganged box,
the maximum load per speed control shall not exceed 3 amps. Refer to the instruction sheet provided with the dimming control for the proper de-rating of that unit.
INSTALLATION
1. Remove existing wallplate and switch, if applicable.
2. Remove 5/8" (1.6 cm) of insulation from each circuit conductor. Make sure the ends of wires are straight.
3. Connect wires per appropriate WIRING DIAGRAM as follows: Twist strands of each lead tightly together and, with circuit conductors, push firmly into appropriate wire
connector. Screw connectors on clockwise making sure no bare conductors show below the wire connectors. Secure each connector with electrical tape.
NOTE: Fan speed control MUST be adjusted so that fan rotates at its slowest speed after power is restored.
4. Restore power at circuit breaker or fuse. Hold speed control securely by its insulated case, turn the control ON and rotate shaft clockwise until it stops.
5. Insert a small screwdriver into trim slot (see Figure 1) and turn counterclockwise to lower fan speed control, clockwise to increase fan speed.
6. After adjusting for minimum fan speed, turn off power at fuse or circuit breaker. Then restore power at circuit breaker or fuse. Fan should be rotating after power has been
interrupted and then restored. If fan is not rotating readjust by increasing minimum fan speed as explained in steps 5 and 6.
7. After a suitable minimum speed has been determined, turn the switch shaft counterclockwise until it clicks OFF. The minimum speed is now set.
8. TURN OFF POWER. Installation may now be completed by carefully positioning all wires to provide room in outlet box for fan speed control. Mount fan speed control into box
with mounting screws supplied. Attach wallplate and knob.
9. Restore power at circuit breaker or fuse. INSTALLATION IS COMPLETE.
