Weather station modes
The weather station has six operating modes: normal mode, setup mode, history mode, alert mode, min./max.
values, and calibration mode.
Quick display mode
In normal mode press SET to display the following groups of parameters:
— wind/gusts speed;
— amount of precipitation over the last hour / day / week / month / total since the beginning of
measurements;
— outdoor temperature / wind chill index / dew point.
Note: While precipitation total is displayed, press and hold SET for 2 seconds to reset it.
To view readings within a group, use the + (2) and MIN/MAX buttons.
To return to normal mode, continue to press SET until you exit current mode.
Setup mode
In normal mode, hold SET for 2 seconds to enter setup mode. Use + (2) and MIN/MAX buttons to select values.
Press and hold these buttons for more than 2 seconds to speed up switching through functions.
Press SET to select the function to be adjusted.
Settings order: Time zone > Time format > Manual time and date > Date format > Wind speed units > Wind
direction > Precipitation units > Temperature units.
Press SET to confirm changes and move on to the next function.
Press HISTORY to exit setup mode.
Calibration mode
Press and hold HISTORY for 8 seconds in normal mode to enter calibration mode. Use + (2) and MIN/MAX
buttons to select function values. If you press and hold these buttons for more than 2 seconds, it will enable
you to speed up value adjustment.
Press SET to sequentially select the sensor to be calibrated.
Calibration order: Wind Speed Calibration > Precipitation Calibration > Historical Precipitation Calibration >
Outdoor Humidity Calibration > Outdoor Temperature Calibration > Indoor Humidity Calibration > Indoor
Temperature Calibration.
Press SET to accept value changes and move to next sensor.
Press HISTORY to exit calibration mode.
Wind speed calibration
The station should be installed away from buildings and trees. Apply a calibration factor if conditions are not
ideal. Calibrate using a reference anemometer.
Temperature calibration
Errors may occur when the weather station is close to heat sources or when exposed to direct sunlight without
protection. Use a mercury or alcohol thermometer for calibration. Place the sensors nearby in the shade for
48 hours. Compare the readings. Adjust the console according to the temperature of the alcohol/mercury
thermometer.
Humidity calibration
The sensor factory error is ±5%. For increased accuracy, calibrate against a reference psychrometer.
Precipitation calibration
The factory calibration is set for 0.01 inches (0.3mm) of precipitation per funnel tipping. To calibrate, install
a rain gauge tube of at least 4 inches (10cm) in diameter nearby, compare the readings over 3 rain events and
calculate the average deviation.
Do not compare values with data from television, radio, newspapers, etc. Such data reflects conditions
elsewhere and is not applicable to your area.
