When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed,
including the following:
1. READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING YOUR BLENDER. KEEP THEM FOR
FUTURE REFERENCE.
2. Verify that the voltage in your home corresponds to that of your appliance.
3. To protect against risk of electrical shock, do not put cord, plug, base, or motor in
water or other liquid.
4. Unplug cord from outlet when not in use, before putting on or taking off parts and
before cleaning.
5. Avoid contact with moving parts.
6. DO NOT operate any electrical appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after the
appliance malfunctions or has been dropped or damaged in any manner. Return
appliance to nearest Authorized Oster
repair, mechanical repair, or adjustment.
7. The use of attachments, including canning jars, not recommended by the
manufacturer may cause a risk of injury to persons.
8. DO NOT use outdoors.
9. DO NOT let cord hang over the edge of a table or counter or touch hot surfaces,
including the stove.
10. Keep hands and utensils out of container while blending to reduce the risk of severe
personal injury and/or damage to blender. A rubber spatula may be used but must be
used only when blender is not running.
11. DO NOT use a broken, chipped or cracked blender jar.
12. DO NOT use broken, cracked or loose cutting blades.
13. To reduce the risk of injury, never place cutting unit blades on base without jar
properly attached. Blades are sharp, handle with care.
14. Always operate blender with cover in place.
15. When blending hot liquids, lift and keep the flap located on the lid open. DO NOT
fill blender container beyond halfway. Always begin processing at the lowest speed
setting. Keep hands and other exposed skin away from the cover opening to prevent
possible burns. Jar will become hot from hot contents.
16. Screw on blade assembly firmly. Injury can result if moving blades accidentally
become exposed.
17. DO NOT leave blender unattended while it is operating.
18. To disconnect cord, turn the blender off " ", and then remove the plug from wall outlet.
19. If jar is cracked, do not use. It could break during operation.
20. DO NOT use appliance for other than its intended purpose.
21. This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced
physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless
they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a
person responsible for their safety. Children should be supervised to ensure that they

22. Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children, or
incapacitated individuals.
23. This appliance is not intended to be operated by means of an external timer or
separate remote-control system.
