SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
1. This product is not designed for industrial or trade applications. Do not use the tool to perform
applications for which it is not designed.
2. This product is not intended for use by young children or infirm persons without adult supervision.
Young children should be supervised to ensure they do not play with the product.
3. The work area must be kept clear at all times. A cluttered work area increases the risk of accidents
to yourself and others.
4. Children and other visitors should be kept well away from the work area and should not be
permitted to handle the tool or power cable.
5. Always wear eye safety glasses or goggles to protect your eyes against dust, sparks and other
debris.
6. Always use a face mask in dusty conditions.
7. Always wear earmuffs when working with power tools.
8. Wear suitable clothing. It is not advisable to wear loose fitting clothes as they can be caught in
moving parts.
9. Do not wear jewellery when operating the tool as such items may get caught in moving parts.
10. Avoid any body contact with grounded surfaces e.g. pipes, while using the tool. Contact may
cause an electric shock.
11. Do not use power tools in the rain or in wet or damp conditions.
12. Do not use power tools near flammable liquids or gases.
13. Ensure the workpiece is firmly secured by using clamps or a vice.
14. Ensure you are well balanced and that you have firm footing when operating power tools. Avoid
situations where you have to reach or overextend.
15. Do not overload or force power tools. This may cause injury and affect the performance of the tool.
16. Be proactive. Before each use check for any damage to the tool and ensure the protection guards
are correctly attached. Moving parts and accessories should also be checked and correctly
installed. Check the condition of the housings and any other parts which may affect the tools
operation. If the switch cannot be turned on and off do not use the tool. Note: All damaged parts
should be repaired by an authorised service repairer.
17. For your own safety it is important that an authorised electrical specialist carry out any repairs to
this product.
18. When changing accessories always remove the power plug from the mains power supply.
19. Ensure that the accessories used in conjunction with the tool are maintained in good condition.
Blunt or damaged accessories i.e. drill bits, saw blades, sand paper will not allow the tool to
perform at optimal level.
20. The power supply cable should be regularly checked and if damaged should be repaired by an
authorised electrical specialist.
21. Never carry power tools by the switch. This may cause accidental starting.
22. Ensure that the switch of the tool is in the off position before connecting the tool to the power
source.
23. Do not carry the tool by the power cable. This may cause damage or electric shock.
24. Do not pull the plug out of the power supply by using the power cable.
25. Protect the cable from heat, oil and sharp objects.
26. This tool should be stored in a dry, safe area where children do not have access.
27. Do not use power tools when tired or fatigued.
28. Ensure that all spanners and wrenches used to assemble the tool are removed before use.
29. Warning: Before connecting the tool to the power source ensure the voltage specified on the
nameplate of the tool is the same as the power supply. Using a voltage that is not specified on the
tool can cause serious injury and damage to the tool. If in doubt do not plug in the tool.
30. Do not use the tool for purposes other than those recommended in the instructions or product
catalogue. Ensure the accessories and attachments used with this tool comply with the
recommendations in the instructions or product catalogue.
