• Only use extension cords that are suit-
able for outdoors.
Switching on
 CAUTION! Personal injury or dam-
age to the device! Hold the device tightly
with both hands and away from your
body.
1. Make sure that the following moving
parts are locked in place:
• Release (6) of the rotating handle
(8)
2. (Fig. A) Form a loop from the end
of the extension cord, pass the loop
through the opening on the handle (8)
and hook the loop into the strain relief
(10) on the handle (8).
3. Connect the device to the power sup-
ply.
4. Remove the blade encasing (11).
5. Always hold the device with both
hands: One hand on the handle (8)
and the other hand on the front handle
(5).
6. NOTICE! Before switching the machine
on, make sure that it is not touching
any objects.
Press and hold the safety switch (4) on
the front handle (5) while pressing the
On/Off switch (7) on the handle (8).
The hedge trimmer runs at top speed.
Switching off
1. Release one of the two switches.
2. Wait until the power tool has stopped
before placing it down.
3. Pull the device plug out of the wall
socket if you are leaving the device un-
attended or if you have finished work-
ing.

Handle
The handle (8) can be set in 5 positions.
Turning the handle (Fig. D)
1. Pull the release (6) backwards and
turn the handle (8) into the desired po-
sition.
2. Let go of the release (6) so that the
handle (8) locks into place.
Transport
Notes
• Switch off the device and disconnect
the plug from the power outlet. Make
sure that all moving parts have come to
a complete stop.
• Always transport the hedge trimmer
with the blade encasing (11).
• Always carry the device by the handle
(8).
Cleaning, maintenance
and storage
 WARNING! Electric shock! Protect
yourself when performing maintenance or
cleaning work. Turn off the device. Pull out
the mains plug.
You should have any repair and mainten-
ance work that is not described in these
instructions carried out by our Service
Centre. Only use original replacement
parts.
Cleaning
 WARNING! Electric shock! Never
spray down the device with water.
NOTICE! Risk of damage. Chemical sub-
stances may attack the plastic parts of the
machine. Do not use any cleaning agents
or solvents.
