from the transmitter. This reflects the beam back to the receiver to
complete the protection circuit. The beam is interrupted when a person
walks through it, causing the alarm to trigger and sound an audible warning.
The beam is produced by a LED, which has a much greater lifespan and is
less susceptible to surge and vibration damage than a tungsten filament
lamp. The receiver is only sensitive to the frequency of the modulated light
in the beam.

condensation may influence its operation.
