Important Safeguards for Your Homemaker
Kettle
• This appliance may only be connected to a power
supply with the voltage specified on the rating plate.
• Never use the cord to pull the plug out of the mains
power outlet, remove by pulling out the actual plug.
• If the main cord of this appliance is damaged, it has to
be replaced by a qualified electrical person only or the
product must be disposed.
• Never use the kettle if it has been dropped or has
evidently been damaged or has become immersed in
water.
IMPORTANT!
Any repairs to this item must be carried
out by a qualified electrical person only or the product
must be disposed. Considerable danger may result from
improper repairs.
• Do not remove the lid while the water is boiling.
• Always disconnect from mains power
-before cleaning and pouring water into the kettle
-each time after use
-any abnormal situation during use
Safety
• If the kettle is overfilled, boiling water may be ejected.
• WARNING: Position the lid so that steam is directed
away from the handle.
• WARNING: Do not remove the lid while the water is
boiling.
• WARNING: The kettle is only to be used with the stand
provided.
• WARNING: The kettle must not be immersed in water
or other liquids.
• WARNING: Do not operate the kettle on an inclined
plane. Do not operate the kettle without any water in the
kettle. Do not move while the kettle is switched ON.
• WARNING: Cleaning and user maintenance must not be
made by children without adult supervision.
• WARNING: This appliance can be used by children
aged from 8 years and above if they have been given
supervision or instructions concerning use of the
appliance in a safe way and if they understand the
hazards involved. Keep the appliance and its cord out of
reach of young children.
• This appliance is intended to be used in household and
similar applications such as:
- staff kitchen area in shops, offices and other working
environments;
- farm houses;
- by clients in hotels, motels and other residential type
environments;
- bed and breakfast type environments
• This appliance is not intended for use by persons
(including children) with reduced physical, sensory or
mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge,
unless they have been given supervision or instructions
concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible
for their safety
• Children should be supervised to ensure that they do
not play with the appliance
• Packaging materials (e.g. plastic bags) should not be
accessible to children.
• Before using the appliance ensures that the mains cord
and plug are dry.
• Never use the kettle with wet hands.
• Never use the kettle outdoors.
• Keep appliance at least 4 inches away from the walls or
other objects during operation.
• Place the kettle on a surface that is resistant to heat.
• Whilst using the kettle, hot water can cause scalding
if the kettle is not handled carefully. Only hold by the
handle (G) on the kettle.
• Do not leave the kettle unattended during use. Do not
place or use the kettle on hot surfaces or near naked
flames.
• Always pour water into kettle before plugging in and
heating up the appliance.
• Never pour cold water into heated kettle immediately
after boiling.
• Be sure that the kettle is filled with water to at least
MIN mark. Do not operate appliance with little or no
water.
