with Copylizer exe.cutive LED (5215):
• Illumina base plate, code no. 5244 (6) (mains adapter
(16), mains lead (17) and fastening screw (23) for the
column included)
• Column (3)
• RTP camera arm (11)
• Mounting thread 1/4" and 3/8" (10)
with exe.cutive LED illumina base plate (5244):
• Illumina base plate (6)
• Fastening screw (23) for the column
• Mains adapter (16)
• Mains lead (17)
(For upgrading to a Copylizer a 70 mm wide R1 system col-

es. If this is the case, do not take the devices into operation.
4. Assembly (fig. B, E)
Insert the column (3) into the socket (5) at the rear of the il-
lumina base plate ensuring that the two locating pins (20)
locate into the holes (21) in the column and fix in place us-
ing the screw (23) provided through the center hole (22).
Ensure that the column is not tilted and is properly located
into the column socket.
Place the illumina base plate (6) on a flat surface and adjust
any instability using the adjustable feet (7). Check for proper
alignment using the spirit level (4) in the column base (5).
Attach the camera arm (11) to the camera arm holder (1).
Ensure that the mounting pin of the camera arm is properly
inserted into the socket (25) of the camera arm holder and
that the lock screw (2) is properly tightened.
5. Attaching a surface lighting unit
The RB 520 AS surface lighting unit (5279, optional acces-
sory) can be mounted to the Copylizer 5215 and to the il-
lumina base plate 5244. For assembling please check the
operating instructions of the surface lighting unit.
By using the mounting adapters 5926 (available as acces-
sories), Kaiser R1 System LED lighting units can also be
mounted (see 11. Accessories).
6. Initial operation (fig. C, D)
Before switching on, check that the mains voltage corre-
sponds to the operating voltage given on the type plate on
the back side of the illumina base plate (6).
Insert the plug (18) of the connecting cable (19) in the sock-
et (24). Then connect the mains adapter (16) to the mains
with the mains lead (17).
The illumina base plate is switched on using switch (14).

The camera is mounted on the RTP camera arm (11). The
standard 1/4" mounting thread (10) can be replaced by the
3/8" mounting thread supplied with the unit. For changing
use a coin to loosen the screw (9).
The RTP camera arm is equipped with a camera position-
ing device (26), which can be adjusted to fit the shape of
your camera body ensuring that the camera remains hori-
zontal during continuous use.
The distance between column and optical axis of the cam-
era lens can be steplessly adjusted up to 80 mm by loos-
ening the screw (12). Do not forget to retighten the screw.
Height adjustment of the camera arm is achieved using the
hand crank operated friction drive unit (8).
To detach the camera arm, loosen the lock screw (2) and
pull the arm towards you.

(optional accessories) (fig. I – L)
The illumina base plate (6) is equipped with hinges (30) for
receiving the glass plate 5292 (32) or the metal plate 5294

the right.
The glass plate (32), made of high-quality crystal glass, is
used for "wavy" originals and serves as a protection for the
acrylic plastic sheet of the illumina base plate.
The metal plate (33) with printed fine grid is used, when the
transmitted light is not needed. It comes with four round
magnets for holding the originals. The metal plate also
serves as a protective cover for the acrylic plastic sheet.
Glass plate and metal plate can be lifted up. Both plates
are equipped with adjustable stop guides.
