5.1 Compressor circuit
The compressor circuit restricts the dynamics of the
music signals, i. e. signal levels which are too low are
increased and signal levels which are too high are
attenuated. Via this effect signal fluctuations are re-
duced and overloading of following units is avoided. A
rich, full sound characteristic is generated.
1) For switching on the compressor circuit, operate the
COMPRESSOR foot switch (14).
2) Adjust the compression amount (max. 40 dB) with
the LEVEL control (1). If the control is turned com-
pletely to the left, the dynamics are not restricted.
The further the control is turned to the right, the
more the dynamics are reduced.
3) The sustain of the signal can be elongated with the
SUSTAIN control (2): The further the control is
turned to the right, the longer the sound of the
instrument is sustained.
5.2 Distortion circuit overdrive/distortion
By using the effects overdrive (softer distortion) and
distortion (harder distortion), a lively, harmonic sound
with long sustain can be generated by a certain amount
of overloading the input circuit.
1) For switching on the distortion circuit, operate the
OVERDRIVE/DISTORTION foot switch (15).
2) For the optimum tuning of the sound adjust the
volume control LEVEL (3) to medium level.
3) The distortion degree of the overdrive effect is ad-
justed with the DRIVE control (4) and the distortion
degree of the distortion effect is adjusted with the
DIST control (5). The further the corresponding con-
trol is turned to the right, the more the signal is
distorted.
4) Adjust the desired sound characteristic of the signal
with the TONE control (6).
5) Adjust the desired total volume with the volume
control (3).
5.3 Digital chorus circuit
The digital chorus effect is achieved by the modulation
of the signal. The modulated signal is added to the
original signal with a time delay. Thus, the effect of two
units playing at the same time is gained: A rich, three-
dimensional sound is generated.
1) For switching on the chorus effect, operate the
DIGITAL CHORUS foot switch (16).
2) Adjust the desired chorus degree with the LEVEL
control (7): The further the control is turned to the
right, the higher is the degree of the modulated,
delayed signal which is added to the original signal.
3) Adjust the desired intensity of the sound pitch
change with the DEPTH control (9). If the control is
turned completely to the left, there is no modulation.
The further the control is turned to the right, the
richer is the sound.
4) The speed of the sound pitch change can be influ-
enced with the SPEED control (8) and thus a
vibrato effect can be generated. The further the
control is turned to the right, the stronger is the
vibrato.
5.4 Digital delay circuit
If the digital delay circuit is activated, the music signal
is stored and will be added to the original signal with a
time delay. An echo effect is generated. According to
the adjusted delay time, the repetitions of the sound
can be perceived individually (long delay time) or may
be heard as one single lingering sound (short delay
time).
1) For switching on the delay effect, operate the DIGI-
TAL DELAY foot switch (17).
2) Adjust the desired delay amount with the LEVEL
control (10): The further the control is turned to the
right, the higher is the level of the delayed signal
which is added to the original signal.
3) For the coarse adjustment of the delay time first
adjust the desired range with the slide switch
RANGE (12):
Position SHORT:
Position LONG:
200–450 ms
Afterwards, perform a fine adjustment of the delay
time with the TIME control (13): By turning the con-
trol to the right, the delay time is increased.
4) The number of echoes can be adjusted with the
FEEDBACK control (11). The further the control is
turned to the right, the more the signal echo is
repeated.
