1. Safety instructions
Installation and electrical connections of
equipments and distribution panels may
only be carried out by skilled electricians
and instructed personnel in accordance
with 60079-14 and the respective national
legislation on electrical equipment for
explosive atmospheres.
This explosion protected equipments and
distributions must not be operated in Zone
0 or 20 hazardous areas.
The requirements of EN 61241-0, -1 and
60079-0 regarding excessive dust deposits
and temperature must be considered by
the user.
The technical data indicated in point 3 as
well as those indicated in the technical
documentation
supplied
equipment, must be observed
It is necessary to ensure that the power
dissipation of equipment is not exceeded
(see technical documents supplied with the
equipment). The temperature class and
explosion group stated on the equipment
and distributions shall be observed. To
ensure adherence to the temperature class
stated on the type label of the equipment,
the permissible ambient temperature, the
rated terminal cross section and the self
heating of the equipment mainly due to
the power dissipation shall be taken into
account (test criterion for the self heating
is an overload of 10%).
Modifications or design changes to
equipment and distributions that affect
the explosion protection are not permitted.
They shall be used for their intended
purpose and shall be in a perfect and clean
state.
Only original COOPER Crouse-Hinds parts
may be used as replacements and for
repairs.
Repairs
that
affect
the
protection may only be carried out by
COOPER Crouse-Hinds or by a qualified
electrician in compliance with the respec-
tive national regulations.
Prior to being put into operation, the boxes
shall be checked in accordance with the
instructions as per section 6.
The operator is required to ensure that
the overall current of a distribution with
bus bar systems does not exceed the values
stated in the technical data of the
equipment.
Distributions mounted on a floor frame
shall be safeguarded against falling over.
Before initial operation, any foreign
matter shall be removed from the
equipment, do not keep this operation
instructions not technical documentation
inside the equipment during its operation.
The national safety rules and regulations
for the prevention of accidents, as well as
the safety instructions, like this text set in
bold-italics in these operating instructions
manual, shall be observed!
