Please note the zero setting whilst installing the connecting rod, as shown

Loosen the screws of the top storage shelf.
Clamp positioning field of the locking rod (1).
Insert locking rod.
Securely fasten screws of the top storage shelf.
Insert connecting rod (square rod, 6) with black plastic carrier (5) into
the locking rod (4).
Slide the lock panel into the cut-out (6) until it connects fully.
