TIPS FOR "BARBECUING ON GRILLING GRATES" AND
"BARBECUING ON A ROTARY SPIT"
Please read all instructions and tips carefully before you start to grill. The BODUM
two different ways: Barbecuing on grilling grates and barbecuing on a rotary spit.

Positioned one above the other, the two grilling grates (16 / 9) allow food to be cooked at different intensities of
heat. The lower, small grilling grate (19) is ideally suited for barbecuing food that needs to be cooked quickly at a
high temperature (e.g. steaks, kebabs, chops etc.).
The upper, large grilling grate (16) is excellent for grilling food that requires lower temperatures and longer cooking
times (e.g. vegetables, sausages, chicken or fish fillets etc.).

Make sure the food you wish to grill is positioned centrally on the rotary spit (17) and clamp it onto the spit using the

distribution.

Caution! Fat from barbecue food dripping onto hot charcoal can cause a sudden burst of flames. Do not extinguish
these flames with water. Instead, arrange the charcoal on the charcoal grate (20) in such a way that no fat can drip
onto glowing charcoal.
Maximum weight of food for barbecuing on the rotary spit: 2 kg.

Do not use sharp objects and abrasive cleaners to clean the grilling grate, rotary spit and grill as these may damage
the surface.
Follow these simple steps to clean your grill:
• Make sure that the grill has cooled down completely and that all charcoal has burned out.
• Remove the ash.
• Remove the grilling grate or rotary spit and charcoal grate and detach the barbecue motor.
• Wash the grill with a mild detergent and water Rinse it thoroughly with clear water and dry it with a cloth.
• The grilling grates do not need to be cleaned every time they are used. Just loosen any left-over food with a brass
wire brush or with crumpled up aluminium foil and then wipe them clean with kitchen paper.
• Clean the barbecue motor with a moist cloth. Never immerse the barbecue motor in water.
