(3) Coil charger cords to prevent damage.

Moving and Storage Instructions
Warning
!
(1) When not in use, store the charger in a dry
place, preferably with its original packing. Do
not subject to sub-zero temperature which
could cause cord insulation to become stiff
and possibly crack when uncoiled.
(2) Place these instructions with the charger
during storage.
Warning
!
Study all battery manufacturer's specific
precautions such as removing or not removing cell
caps while charging and recommended rates of
charge.
2.3 Preparing to Charge
Warning
!
Failure to follow these instructions may result in
severe burns, other serious injury or property
damage.
(1) If it is necessary to remove the battery from
the vehicle to charge it, always remove the
grounded terminal first. Make sure that all of
the electrical accessories (heater, A/C, audio
system, lights, etc.) in the vehicle are turned
off to prevent a spark.
(2) Be sure that the area around the battery is
well ventilated while the battery is charging
and/or trickle charging.

(3) Clean the battery terminals before charging.
During cleaning, do not allow the dirt to come
into contact with your eyes, nose or mouth.
(4) Add distilled water at each cell until the
battery acid reaches the level specified by
the battery manufacturer. Do not overfill.
For a battery without removable cell caps,
such as valve regulated lead-acid-batteries,
carefully follow the manufacturer's charging
instructions.
(5) Read, understand and follow all instructions
for the charger, battery, vehicle and any
equipment used on the battery and charger.
(6) Read all of the battery manufacturer's specific
precautions while charging and recommended
rates of charge.
(7) Make sure that the charger (+) and (-) cable
clips make tight connections.
(8) Determine voltage of battery by referring
to car owner's manual and make sure that
output voltage selector switch is set at correct
voltage. If charger has adjustable charge rate,
charge battery initially at lowest rate.
2.4 Charger Location
Warning
!
Failure to follow these instructions may result in
severe burns, other serious injury or property
damage.
(1) Place the C3 charger as far away from the
battery as the cables permit.
(2) Never place the charger directly above or
below the battery while charging or trickle
charging; gases or fluids from the battery will
corrode and damage the charger.
